Are these suitable to wear regularly for long periods of time?

Yes, they fit really good and they dont get steamed up like the google type eye protection and best of all you can wear them all day if needed just like I have used them. If you buy these you will not have any trouble with them and they are good for indoor and outdoor use. I would always say go for the best eye protection that you can afford but these are at a reasonable price (cheaper then others) and I would never go for the cheap 1s as if you are grinding steel then particles may go through the lens and blind you.
