Hot sunny day, three hours . Cloudy cooler day four hours. Unvarnished wood soaks in first coat which dries in two hours and requires three coats. You can put a second coat on in two hours and a third coat the next day. Clear varnish leaves the wood it’s natural colour and brings the grain out Only use Sadolin. **Q: Does this replace Sadolin's Yacht Varnish?** A: No, Sadolin Yacht Varnish is still current, this is a woodstain, which is clear but not colourless, we would recommend a test application first before application. **Q: What is the best brush to use to apply this product? I am currently using a paint brush and the brush has become sticky and now won't apply well** A: I use Coral 31417 brushes from amazon. Seem to work really well. Sadolin doesn't like a lot of over brushing - if the temperature is right it goes tacky quite quickly.
