OCTOPUS Special Ultrasonic Cleaner, concentrate for use in ultrasonic cleaner, spectacle cleaner, hygienic jewellery cleaner (250ml)

Machine capacity 600ml Weight of jewellery, over 500g of 925 sterling silver (scales maxed out at 500g) 1 capful in the machine + boiling water to fill line, remember to agitate to help shift the dirt. I've had my current ultrasonic cleaner maybe 4 years and I've always thought it did a good enough job for what I needed. I've had this particular cleaning solution in my "saved for later" for easily months (probably since it first appeared tbh) and I've always thought "I'll come back later" as the price was oitnof reach compared to my "usual brand" I was in the market for a new ultrasonic cleaner as assumed that was the issue, turns out it was the cleaning solution that was my issue!!! So instead of shelling out close to £60 for a "fancy looking" machine I put this "straight in my basket" Arrived promptly and I pulled EVERYTHING sterling silver I could fit into my relatively small machine (totally maxed it out) Dosage wise.......1 capful?? Hmmmm sure, let's try. I always boil the kettle before filling the machine to help get as clean as possible. One capful and turned on the machine........... NOTHING. to say I was disappointed was an understatement..... I'd wasted yet more money. Then I had a "light bulb" moment......grabbed an old spoon and agitated the hot solution whikentue machine ran. WHAT A DISGUSTING DIFFERENCE!!!!!! I was shocked, disgusted and amazed by the sheer amount of filth began coming from what for all intense and purposes was "clean jewellery" well....it was shiny, so that was clean enough lol I ran it though then rinsed clean and the difference was quite honestly NIGHT AND DAY!!! It looked brand new , better than it's ever looked considering some bits jabe gotta be 20+ years old. Inronsed ot off with clean water and washed the machine out, watching the disgusting black dirty water flow away....... Then I thought WHY NOT, I've got years worth here , let's try again. Boiling water, 1 cap , 1 cycle and YET AGAIN..............PURE FILTH (the good kind) this time inlet it sit in the water/solution mix for maybe 20-30 mins and ran through once more (it maxes out at 480s) and with just some light agitation.......more came out. I was satisfied I'd gotten it basically as clean as it'll be (for now) Rinsed off , let to dry and admired the "agonising, back breaking work it took to polish EVERY piece by hand" Well......that's what I'll tell folks 😎 So yeah........this is likely the ONLY cleaner I'll purchase from now on (well probably a year or more from now considering you need just ONE cap. For context I weighed my jewellery and the scales maxed out at 500g weight in a 600ml machine so that gives you an idea on what it'll clean (all at ONCE too) Worth it. DEFINITELY

I had bought an ultrasonic cleaner and had been a bit disappointed with it,but I got this stuff and it now works a treat!

Works very well with my ultrasonic cleaner, pleasant smell, no complaints. Will certainly buy again, possibly a bigger container if possible. Note mix with water so goes a fair way.

Excellent Product

Read the product details and it states gentle & safe to use on plastics! So thought I would try it for cleaning my vinyl records in my ultrasonic machine. Indeed it removed dirt and grime from the records and left them looking like new with a great shine to them, however it left behind a coating of the cleaner to the record grooves and subsequently the records sounded terrible, much worse than before cleaning. I have since rinsed the records in the ultrasonic bath with just distilled water and a small amount of dishwasher rinse aid to act as a surfactant which has resulted in an improvement but this stuff is stubborn to remove once applied. Maybe after several rinses my records may recover but as yet haven’t had the time to do that. I write this review to act as a warning to others that in my opinion this is not suitable for vinyl LP cleaning and to be fair to the manufacturer they do not list it as such, this product certainly cleans, just be careful what you clean with it!!!!

Perfect cleaner for my models

Not perfect, quite expensive compared to others I’ve seen advertised, didn’t clean as I’d hoped . Tried on both jewellery & denture plates.

Works well when used with a sonic cleaner.

Acheté pour nettoyer des lunettes. Je trouvait l efficacité de la machine a ultrasons très moyenne avec de l'eau ou du liquide vaisselle (bio et 1er prix de supermarché testé). J'ai aussi vu une recette "maison" avec du vinaigre blanc pour dégraisser. Honnêtement, j'ai essayé le vinaigre blanc comme dégraissant pour les surfaces en cuisine, ce n'est pas très efficace ... Mais avec ce produit spécialisé. Ça aide vraiment avec le coté dégraissant. Même si la graisse et notoirement difficile à nettoyer. Mais ici pour des lunettes avec un peu de sébum, ça marche et ça suffit. J'ai aussi nettoyé des peignes bien incrustés. Un peu plus galère (sébum et poussière) mais j'ai fait 2-3 cycles et ça a finit par marcher aussi. Le prix est quand même un peu chère pour le volume. Mais il n y a pas vraiment mieux ailleurs non plus. N'oubliez pas de diluer le produit. Je n avais pas vérifié au début et j ai cru que je n'allais pas avoir assez même pour 1 seul bain. Même en diluant ça reste un peu chère mais je peux probablement faire 4 bains et les réutiliser avec 1 bouteille. MAJ : En terme d'hygiène, psychologiquement, ça me dérange un peu de laisser 'l'eau du bain" dans machine longtemps entre les nettoyages pour rentabiliser. Mais ça se fait au final et j'ai réussit à bien faire durer le flacon, même si je me rappelle plus des dates et durées en détail. Je met la concentration maximum du mode l'emploi pour la dilution car je pense que ça aide pour la conservation du produit dilué (contre le risque éventuel de développement bactérien). Je ne suis pas sûre mais, quand l'eau du bain devient plutôt trouble au lieu de transparente, c'est que l'eau contient pas mal de graisses oxydées, c'est là que je choisis de renouveler le liquide. Je nettoie aussi le bac à fond à ce moment là, ce qui est en général facile (il faut frotter mais pas beaucoup), normal, le bac est déjà rempli de "savon" avec ce produit. Mais il faut quand même nettoyer car il y a un dépôt blanc en général, que pareil, j'associe (sans être sûre non plus) à de la graisse oxydée mise en suspension par le savon. ça n'a pas l'air ragoutant dit comme ça mais ça n'est pas si terrible ne pratique. Et puis c'est la vie/le principe. PS : Je cherche toujours à comprendre la différence entre les formules "améthyste"/rose et "émeraude"/verte.
