what is the smallest length of lead it can use; i.e what length of lead is wasted on each lead length

mine seems to be 1.5cm (15mm) and then it collapses the lead in. I was thinking it was faulty but checked back here and seems normal to have that experience with the pencil. My first mechanical pencil. Love this though,.

Can anyone advise if the inner workings of the pencil constructed of metal or plastic?

its a mix of both from what i can see, TBH im not sure why you would want to take it that far apart.

Is the grip uncomfortable after extensive use? i have a uni kurutoga with a similar grip. it's super-grippy but a little painful after 30 minutes.

Its very grippy and rough though ive gone for 90+ minutes without pain in my fingers, just in my hand from cramp. I would also advise buying the spare rubbers as the case for those fit the end of the pencil as a protector for the nib. Best pencil ive ever used.
