J.R. Liggett Bar Shampoo Moisturizing Hair Formula

This was recommended to me by my daughter and I admit to being slightly skeptical about her claims as I am elderly and have a lot of hair, but it is completely straight and very fine in texture - not the easiest combination to look after! For years I have used a moisturising shampoo and conditioner and washed my hair every second day otherwise it just went flat. This little bar was rather a revelation. First thing I noticed was that it was extremely easy to rinse out. After a few seconds under the shower the “squeak” of really clean hair was there. Second, after drying and styling my hair didn’t feel the lack of conditioners at all - just felt lovely and silky and clean! Thirdly, on the alternate “non wash” days I thought it may lose shape, but in fact it retains the style better than when I was using all those products for moisturising. Just dragged a brush through it in the morning and it fell into shape - and this was without styling lotion and as I was “shielding” during the lockdown that means that I was also without the attentions of. Hairdresser for nearly five months. Amazing! Needless to say I am now a customer for life.

I was taken a back by how well this works on my natural afro hair. I use it with the jr liggett's conditioner bar and my hair has been loving it. Regular purchase from now on. And its 100% natural! Winning

I wanted to try this as a greener option than bottled shampoo. It came in a little cardboard box, which was great, but there were a few little polystyrene things in the box which didn't serve any purpose and defeated the purpose of buying the shampoo. It is a bar of shampoo..... how damaged can it get. Apart from that, though, it is wonderful. A couple of rubs on my scalp and there is a lovely thick lather. It has a old fashioned soapy smell when using it, but no smell afterwards. I highly recommend it.

I have allergic reactions on my face when i use shampoo even ones that say no parabens or sulphates so i wash my hair with water everyday and once a week i wash my hair with a conditioner by 'simple'. I heard about natural shampoo bars tht are good for your skin and hair chemical free so i bort 4 thinking theres finally a hair product i cn use i wish i didnt get so many because as soon as i lathered it into my scalp it started to burn and kept getting more painful the longer i left it in so i wash it out really well and my face was full of bright red lumpy painful patches and my hair had dryed so much it went like brittle straw texture and my scalp feels sore im just so upset n mad. There must be some sort of chemical in this or else i wudnt have reacted

Listen, I love this shampoo. It doubles as a detangling conditioner too because of how easily it’ll soften your hair and provide a base to easily detangle any knots in the shower. However it is SO expensive for just one bar. I use up shampoo bars FAST and I used to buy like three of these a month! I recently switched to The Friendly’s Soap shampoo bars which are also made with oils and honestly they work pretty much as well for a fraction of the price at £2-3 per bar! A lot more cost-effective. I appreciate that JR has multiple formulations with slightly different add-on ingredients though, as well as various scents.

Only based on one use but... I was using a Funky Soap shampoo bar for three weeks. My hair was getting sooo bad, and my scalp was churning out the worse dandruff ever. Didn't get it at all. Tried vinegar rinse, citric acid rinse, with conditioner, without - nothing worked, it just got worse. Gutted too as the company was great and the shampoo bar was good value for money. I was about to give up when this arrived and I thought fine, I'll give it one last shot. Did not even do acid rinse (I have medium hard water but not that bad), just a standard organic conditioner, and bam - scalp cleared up and curls back and softness and shine. So based off that - AMAZING.

Very pleased with this.. I have been continuing with the no shampoo method for nearly a year and was using jr liggets argan oil soap bar.. it had made a lot of difference to my hair which are very frizzy , thick and coarse. Lately the argan oil soap bar price has rocketed so decide to get the moisturising formula instead and I am so glad I did.. my hair is sooo soft and bouncy. I also have started using tangle teaser and together my hair looks like I have been to the salon. I wash my hair once a week and air dry them . That usually takes about 6-7 hours. The I brush them thoroughly with tangle teaser and tie up my hair in a sock bun before going to bed..and voila I get the most luxurious big soft curls.. I can't believe my hair looks so great and that too without any heat. Will continue buying this.

I bought this soap along with the J.R.Ligget Herbal Bar Formula, which I ended giving to my sister to try on her 9mth old baby boy (yes, I was mad to give it up but I had this one). I have to admit I prefer so far the aforementioned bar as this version (Damaged Hair) caused some residue on my hair after use, it was a bit heavy for my ultra fine flyaway hair. I do colour my hair and work outside 6 days a week, so was hoping to fine something that may help when my hair becomes dry. It does lather up but not as foamy as the herbal shampoo bar and we live in a hard water area too but I will continue to use until my next order arrives. I think this is the sort to use say once or twice a week when the weather starts to get colder and therefore my hair starts to get dryer. I have put in another order for the Herbal Bar, the Tea Tree bar and the Original version just to try them out. I know for one the Herbal bar so far is my favourite but I guess this bar would also be suitable for those that need a little more moisture in their hair

Ottimo shampoo solido, i capelli si districano bene e non restano unti (cosa che mi è capitata con altri tipo di shampoo solidi). Lo consiglio, fate bene a voi stessi ed all'mbiente.

Considering the bar is made out of 100% natural ingredients, I’m not surprised to say that it has helped my hair grow! It lathers really nice and keeps my hair clean for a couple a days. My hair smells nice and clean too

C'est un savon shampoing très doux, qui mousse bien et qui lave très bien mes cheveux longs. J'ai des cheveux longs et fins et un peu secs aux pointes.Nul besoin de démêlant, les cheveux mouillés se coiffent très bien. Une fois secs les cheveux sont très doux. C'est vraiment un produit idéal pour ceux ou celles qui cherchent une alternative aux shampoings classiques industriels ou aux bases lavantes neutres qui assèchent souvent si on ne rajoute pas d'autres ingrédients. Je le recommande vraiment tant pour ses propriétés lavantes que pour ses qualités environnementales. Un petit trésor à faire connaître !

I watched so many YouTube reviews before I bought this shampoo. It looked so promising. But it just didn't work for my hair. :/
