Hetalia Axis Powers - Complete Series 1 [DVD]

Hetalia is a hilarious series, whether you're watching the original or the dub it guaranteeably funny. a few of the jokes may be a little risque, but every country has its problems and there is no harm in joking about them once in a while? apart from that the art style is so lovely, definately a high point in my experience of the series (even if it doesn't matter to you, you may well notice) and you will find yourself actually learning things, which can never be a bad thing. if you are worried you may find it offensive, i reccomend checking some episodes out online or looking at previews on youtube, you can soon see if it suits you humour~

It's a fantastically hilarious series, and even though the episodes aren't very long, it's very entertaining and educational. Can be viewed whenever you want, and when you feel down, it's great to lighten the mood! It teaches of historical events round about WWII, as well as many other times in the world's history, including how the British Empire formed, and the American revolution. I'd recommend this to anyone who has an upcoming test, or even just for fun! It's great to watch anytime of the year, and is great for any age.

The extras of the DVD are good. The box is not the most strong one I've ever seen but it does the trick. The dub is another thing though. It's the most hilarious thing I've ever listened. It doesn't matter if it's not a translation, it's fun.

Hetalia is not for the easily offended. Based on a webcomic, it plays on stereotypes to create personifications of each country, and goes through world history. Each episode is just 5 minutes long and is fast-paced and fun. The dub uses different jokes from the original japenese but keeps to the same plot.

A fantastic way to learn history, so funny and super cute although has the ability to make you wish the end of the war had turned out differently :P accents are amazingly funny and adorable can't wait for season 2 to arrive :) seriously, buy this DVD it rocks!! Hasta la pasta! ;)

There is definately no waiting around for jokes in this series, it seems everything is blasted at you at once! Very hectic, but very very enjoyable :) You'll be saying quotes from it for ages. Though not for everyone, and if you're not a fan of the often random layout of many animes this will probably be too much to handle. I guess some people may find it offensive aswell, but its quite clear that the stereotypes aren't taken seriously and its all just for a laugh, so unless you're really sensitive this will not be a problem. There's also opportunity to learn some interesting things about alliances etc, but you won't realise until someone asks you a question about it, because you won't feel very intelligent while watching XD Its very crazy, but overall a very funny and worthwhile watch. I recommend :)

Arrived on time and eveything well LOVE THE DVD. I'M JUST CONNNSTANTLY FANGIRLING An amazing buy! It helps people get into World History (and probably help eradicate some racism somewhere) when you get to love the countries <3

this is incredaly amazing but not for the easily offeneded .if you want to have a look at some eposoides go on to youtube (u will have 2 make an accont though as you have 2 be 15) ENJOY

Before I purchased this product, I'm already a huge fan of this series. I've watched a few samples of the English dub online and they were quite good. Needless to say, the rest of the dub is great as well. The best part is it comes with the original Japanese voices with subtitles, if that's more your thing. The 2nd disc contains some extra stuff, which although are fun but not really necessary. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this series.

Have you ever found history one of those subjects that you just never really caught on to? Are you a long time lover of history with a huge wealth of knowledge about other countries and their struggles and triumphs? Do you have a sense of humor? THIS IS FOR YOU. I myself was never one to listen very well in history classes. My thoughts were what's in the past is in the past. Why bother learning every single detail if I'll never use the information in my lifetime? My grades were decent and I only bothered to learn the most essential parts of history. How could it possibly become something I could pay attention to? I tried to find a way. I definitely found it. Hetalia is a five minute long episode series. In each season there are 26 episodes, and yes, there are 26 in this dvd set. the running time is just about 2 1/2 hours. It started as a web series in japan. It follows the lives of the major countries of the world and what they've been through in the past, as well as touching upon the little quirks of the people and places in each one. In Hetalia, the characters are each of the countries in a human form. Battles and struggles take place with the appropriate countries literally slapping or yelling at each other in hilarious ways, and along with the quirky adult humor the show succeeds in not only capturing your attention in a way a normal high school classroom never could, but also keeps it and easily puts more info in your head that you never knew you would from an anime! The show stays out of the touchiest subjects in the japanese casted version. They don't mention events such as the holocaust and the gruesome aspects of war. The English cast is brilliant and has pretty much a version all their own. I love the original voices, but in this show, I think the english cast gived the original quite a run for their money! They stay true to the original, and made some script changes to appeal to an american audience. They include some of our own stereotypes of the countries instead of the japanese stereotypes. I'm completely content with the changes and think of it as getting two shows in one! The amount of effort put into this series is outstanding. NO. This show is NOT FOR KIDS. There are swears and it's filled with older humor. The show isn't censored. If you are easily offended by stereotypes and certain parts of history, do not watch this. If you aren't easily offended, this anime is a must have in your collection! the more you watch it, the more jokes you get. It will have you laughing for hours and you will want to look up every fact you come across in this well researched series.

Der Manga zu Hitalia ist ja seid 04,2012 hier in Deutschland erschienen, da ich aber aus Erfahrung weiß das nicht alle Animes zu den Mangas in Deutschland erscheinen habe ich mir die Englisch/Japanisch Version geholt- und bin Begeistert;-) Diese beiden DVDs- sind in Englischer/Japanischer Sprache+ Englisch Untertitel !!! PS. Deutsche Wörter fallen hier und da auch:-D Die beiden DVDs bestehen aus 5 Minuten Kurzgeschichten, wie in dem Manga selbst !!! Gesamt Laufzeit:DVD1=125Min+60Min Bonus Die 2te DVD=102 Minuten Laufzeit Mein Eindruck: Kann ich nur empfehlen, dieKurzgeschichten sind super besetzt worden von den Sprechern und hören sich nicht nur toll an, die Animation sieht auch gut aus. Der Manga ist ja viel Gekrakelt worden, was nicht so Sauber aussieht, das hat man bei der Umsetzung der Animation weg gelassen, was ich viel Besser finde. Ich habe viel lachen müssen, nicht nur bei den Bildern, auch die Englische Sprache ist leicht zu verstehen (sie wird schön Deutlich gesprochen), besonders Witzige finde ich: Obwohl die DVD auf Englisch ist- spricht hier Deutschland immer mal etwas auf Deutsch, dabei hab ich erst recht lachen müssen, da es einen Dialekt von Englisch in sich hat:-D Bin nur etwas geknickt das es nicht mehr DVDs gibt, vielleicht kommen ja noch welche;-) Also von mir: Dies DVDs sind ein Geheimtipp an alle die Humorvolle Animes lieben und sich nicht abschrecken lassen von einer Englisch sprachigen Version. PS. Ich hoffe trotzdem das er auch nach Deutschland kommt!!! Solang mann sie noch bekommt, und das für einen Angemessenen preis, sag ich nur ZUGREIFEN!!! Wünsche viel Spass beim Kucken;-)

Die Englische Synchronisation ist für Deutsche sehr gut zu verstehen, obwohl Akzente der jeweiligen Charaktere mit eingebracht wurden. Die Synchro ist deutlich und sauber. Wer Comedy mag und nicht so viel Wert auf Inhalt sondern eher auf Unterhaltung legt, ist mit dieser DVD gut bedient ;)

The series is absolutely fantastic (although they don't really get into Canada's proper relationship with Britain...) and is great fun. Helped me with some history projects and is hilarious at the same time. The package came in a lot quicker than I had imagined it would too. Hooray!
