Alex Rider: 10 Explosive Missions

My 9 year old son has been reading this series at school and really enjoying. He often speaks about it which is lovely as at home it’s like he is allergic to books! He is a natural reader but doesn’t choose to do it. This series has him hooked and he wanted the next book at home to read over the holidays, as his wanting a book is a rare Occurrence I hurried online. I went to buy book 5 by itself but then found this set which works out at around the price of 3 books and you get 11! His older brother is going to give them a try too. Great price! As others have said this set also includes book 11 so the item descriptor is wrong although the barcode on the set also says 10 books so think it must have had an update at some stage. Great set of books at a great price

What a fantastic box set of the first ten Alex Rider adventures. As a long-time fan of Anthony Horowitz (from his TV scripts for Midsomer Murders and Foyle's War to his more recent novels, including the spot-on Holmes/Watson/Moriarty tales) I had never read any of his teen-oriented fiction. So I thought I'd try these, especially at such a low price. What a surprise! These Rider stories out-Bond Bond with non-stop action and never talk down to their aimed-for readership. Have read six so far, almost back-to-back. Highly recommended for those who like spy-style thrillers with a touch of the fantastic. Oh, and I'm an OAP!

I bought these for a Christmas present for my grandson initially there was a little issue and as soon as I contacted the seller within three days I had a replacement with an apology. They were so good. I would definitely buy from them again and the product was lovely.

Having watched the First two TV series, my 10 year old became a big Alex Ryder fan. I popped into my local bookstore to buy him the next book and double checked the price on Amazon only to find that I could buy the entire series for the same price as 2 paperback books in the shop. No brainer and my son loves them!

My son was loving the Alex Rider series. He was lapping them up , getting through a book every couple of days and begging me to order the next. He was writing reviews full of florid language like 'Gripping' and 'thrilling'. I thought I would play clever and by the set - even though he had already read the first three I would still make a good saving. Big mistake.... Half way through the next book he declared himself bored and wanted nothing to do with them. Of course he did. Apparently the plot is too far fetched and pretty much the same crazy stuff happens in every book. As far as I am aware this has never been a problem for his favourite children's book authors in the past (j.k.rowling, tom gates, wimpy kid etc.). I think these books are pretty good but I have taken on board his feelings and tempered my 5 star review. I should have know better than to buy the box set - kiss of death. I will know better in future than to buy the set

I bought this set as a gift for my niece and 2 nephews. They are all different ages so I thought this collection would be a good archive for them to have for years to come. I bought this set as I read all of them when I was a teenager and throughly enjoyed them. Recently, a new one came out which is not part of the collection and I read that in one day! Clearly, I still love them! Lovely educational and useful gift for children and adds to a wonderful collection of books.

Mi hijo de 11 años que es buen lector está enganchadísimo con esta serie. Se leyó en castellano la saga de Gatos guerreros y esta serie dice le ha encantado. Parece que el protagonista es un niño de 14 años que es un prototipo James Bond en jovencito. Es un buen regalo de navidad.
