STRICTLY BEDS&BUNKS Avalon Midi Sleeper Cabin Bed, 3ft Single

I was a little dubious about buying a bed from Amazon... especially one that only cost the price of this bed.....well I didn't have to be worried at all. Promt courteous delivery....and the bed is absolutely fantastic! the finish is excellent. Its seems strong and sturdy. I bought this for my 13 year old, 5ft. 5ins son. It looks like there is plenty of growing room for him. Im very very impressed with this bed, So much so that I'm thinking of buying another one for my daughter and I have have sent pictures of the bed to all my family and friends who have children. It's absolutely genius in that, it's not too high (So that changing the bed sheets is made difficult) but high enough to be practical and store things underneath. It's raw pine. I was worried about splinters and sharp edges... but so far ..i have seen none. I have some wood varnish that I'll use to coat it at some point, but for now I'm enjoying the raw/natural look of the bed. I may update this review in 6 months or so after my son has really tested it! Oh.. and it didn't take ages to put up. About an hr with 2 people... or one skilful one! Update!!!! 10th Feb 2019...My son has had this bed for some time now. It started squeaking every time he moved on it. And he would jump out of it instead of using the ladder as he is now so tall, he's 15. So I tightened up all the screws and...get this...cut off a foot and a half off the legs so he can climb in and out without the ladder! I removed the safety bar and now my son as a very lovely 'daybed'! It's strong and sturdy like the first day I bought it! It's really lasted the test! Very very impressed! Will be varnishing it over the summer holidays.

Amazing bed. Rock solid. Can't fault the wood quality and appearance, and the overall bed. It was so comfortable to sleep on. Obviously this is due mainly to the mattress however a sturdy bed does help. It was a little awkward to put together and the instructions were a bit bad. I have done hardly any DIY in my life, however. It would have been better if they had numbered the parts and then matched them to the numbered parts having been assembled like you have on some DIY items so someone like myself can see where everything goes. For someone that knows what they are doing, you should be fine. We will be purchasing more, as the high sleepers are perfect for saving floor space, and of the quality and appearance of this is anything to go by, they will be perfect for our other rooms. Have one happy little boy.

Really good sturdy bed and that easy to put together. The company are really good with messages and giving a good rough idea of when items are being delivered which is fantastic. The only thing that let it down is the delivery man didn't take it into the room where the bed is going and left it downstairs. He carried in one of the boxes but gave the other one to my Mum who has just recovered from an operation, so his idea of heavy was very different to hers. Other than that a great company and would definitely look again if I wanted another bed and would reccomend to friends and family.

I'm happy with this bed and so is my 8 year old son. He has so much more space in the bedroom now. We put an Ikea Kallax unit(2x2) underneath at the foot of the bed, you might need to lift the bed a couple of inches to slide the unit under. Also on the wall next to where his head goes we added ikea wall pockets to keep bits like remote controls, torch, small toys. My mum and dad helped me put this up, you'll definitely need two people at least I think. The instructions were easy to follow and the bed is a very good design. I like the ladder for two reasons, firstly it is not completely vertical so easy to climb, and the rungs are comfortable and flat and wide. I dislike changing the sheets as my mattress seems a tight fit but I think thats just the nature of this style of bed. This has been in use for a few months now and I think it will last many years.

This bed is very high quality for the price comes with everything needed including very detailed instructions once build this bed is solid and is so much better then others as has extra thick legs highly recommend this bed and company 5 stars

Very pleased with this bed for our grandson. Clear comm's on delivery. Relatively easy to assemble - tip: sort the pieces first. Took just under 2 hours. It needs 2 to assemble at times. Instructions could have been a bit easier to read - a few more diagrams maybe. Not a big problem. Just meant some sections had to be read 2 or 3 times. It is very sturdy, and will do him for many year. It's big and strong enough to take an adult, for occasional use. Happy to recommend. Would buy again.

Bought two of these beds whilst on offer, they were a really great price & delivery was prompt. However as other reviews said, the instructions are awful & assembling them was an ordeal (2 of us doing it). Took 6hrs to do them both! We were missing some dowls & some holes were not predrilled. They look really good and our kids like them (6yrs & 4yrs), but they're not that sturdy, don't have faith in them lasting as long as we'd hoped, there's a bit of wobbling when the kids get on & off them. If you can afford to it's probably worth spending more for better quality beds (which hopefully have decent instructions & assemble more easily too!)

Absolutely delighted with the product. A very polite delivery driver, delivered when stated. Assembly was straightforward with clear instructions provided. I finished the bed with a couple of coats of clear, satin varnish to seal and protect. I like the bed being made of pine as it's a pleasing finish and repairs/modifications can be made over time (not a manufacturers recommendation but a personal positive point). We had a minor issue with one of the pieces - this involved ordering a replacement part which was very easy from drop down menus on their site and arrived the following day free of charge. It's often only when an issue occurs when you get a real understanding of a company and our experience was great! Our 3 year old son loves the bed allowing greatly increased floor space for toys compared to traditional beds. Very happy :-)
