what size is the inlet tubing/piping if i was to plumb it up to a power head?

You need to connect the piping to an air pump, not a power head. It fits regular 4/6mm air tubing

How far does the box stick out if hind from back of side of tank?

Depends on the thickness of the rim, mine sticks out 100mm or 4 inches

I have a biorb round tank, would this fit on the outside?

No this is really for a tank that has got a lid. It didn’t fit my tank as mine has a lid. So unless the tank has no lid. Then it won’t fit.

Can this be used as a hospital tank for a siamese fighting fish (beta)?

It uses the same water as your main tank so it would depend on why you are hospitalising your Beta. For injuries it would be ok but not for disease treatment.
