Algon Organic Path and Patio Cleaner Concentrate 2.5l

Amazing for cleaning a filthy patio! I used this about two weeks ago, forgetting how good it actually was. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I took a good look at the patio this morning. It was cleaner than it’s been in years & that even includes after jet washing. I’ve now used it on the driveway in the hopes it will clean that too. I suspect it will take a few applications though. It’s cheap enough though and there’s no nasties in it - plus it doesn’t take up half your day & get you filthy like jet washing does!

I use this every year on my patio and side path. This year everything was greener than usual! I have used this in a watering can with spray bar which works but last year I bought a hand spray pump and this makes delivering the solution easier on my back. It also enables a more even coating across the slabs. It effectively removes the green algae, and other built up dirt from the slabs. Each day you see them a little bit clearer. I do find though that the black algae is more stubborn and has remained. I hadn’t realised this Can be used on most surfaces, so this year I also sprayed it along my green conservatory window & roof edge. Hopefully it will clear this off so cleaning with soapy water is easier. We have a lot of wildlife in our small garden plus small pets so it is good to know that once dried they are all safe to walk on it. As it says be careful along edges of flower beds as the strong vinegar solution withers the greenery if it touches it. I always weed the patio and remove pots etc off it a couple of days before so the insects which live beneath them move away before I apply the solution. I do not want to cause any harm to them & would think it may burn if sprayed onto them. Every life matters.

Clears algae but not dirt.

I've been using this for some time now initially to annually clean a very large 3m x 3m plastic mesh covered framework for growing vegetables away from pests. More recently I have found it works really well to kill weeds even grass and Dandelions growing between patio slabs. Being essentially strong vinegar it is not harmful in the way garden centre weedkillers are. Of course there is a smell of vinegar but only briefly. It is an easy, low cost, efficient and wildlife friendly way to keep weeds and algae in check. Rinse sprayer tools after use as the seals do not like that acidic nature of the liquid. Spear and Jackson sell acetic acid resistant replacement seals at a reasonable cost from Amazon if needed.

Thought I'd wait till I'd used it, and will have to use it again! It's Indian song which has been down 1 year 3 months and was looking a bit green especially the bits in the shade. Applied the Algon as per instructions and you could see improvement on some of the lightly affected areas after 1 day. Now after 6 days the worst affected areas look almost as covered with algae as before so will have to supply again. And possibly more which is disappointing. Great that it's pet safe though

This really worked well on both my garden fencing & stone patio. But it didn't work fast, takes at least 3 weeks & on fencing in particular turned the green algae very white, which lasted for another few weeks before leaving a much cleaner result. Expect 5-6wks but my results were excellent after this time. Will use again & it's a bonus it's pet friendly.

I can only recommend this product - it really does work. I was prepared to wait a couple of weeks to see results, as it says in the instructions, but within a day I could see a difference, and after a few days, the whole garden patio was clear of algae. I wish that I had taken before and after photos to add to the review, but didn’t, so I can only stress that this product is incredibly good.

This product is 100% NOT safe for pets! After using it all of our dogs developed extreme sickness & diarrhoea!! We followed the instructions to the letter. We even didn’t let the dogs out for 24 hours into the garden (not on the instructions), they get it on their paws and when they must lick them they digest a small amount! Seriously if you have pets be very careful! One of the dogs ended up at the vets as he was pooing blood! Ended up on a treatment to replace the lining on his stomach!!!

Le produit ne semble pas très efficace. Passé deux fois sur la terrasse elle reste toujours noircie. A voir si cela facilite le passage du carscher
