HitchMount Reverse Light Kit, C1R + Brake

Bought this for my husband. He said it was easy to install and he really likes it! Likes having the bright reverse light when backing into the garage!

I got the DD Hitch Mount Reverse Light kit for my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. I had a 7 pin and flat 4 pin harness at the bumper so it was no issue hooking up. I did have to get a newer 7 pin plug for the bumper so the DD kits harness would work but that was inly a few extra bucks at Autozone. Everything connected up with DD provided harness no problem. Now I can actually see behind me when backing up!

Easy to install and love the backup on this. The extra brake light is nice and bright as well. Love it. I was originally going to install regular small backup lights under my bumper. My 2013 f 150 has terrible backup lights. So this is amazing . I am going to get one for my wife’s explorer. I give it an A plus.

I absolutely love this hitch light. My camper shell light went out, but this guy didn’t. It’s a brake light as well as a reverse light. Get it installed in less than five minutes.

Honestly the item should be cheaper. $100 for a pod is a bit crazy. Then they want another $60 for the addition of a 10$ module to add capabilities that should come standard. For the $160 they could at least let you customize how you want the flash to come on or disable it. Maybe add a small button that gets covered with a grommet. Instead they make you cut the wire to disable the flash feature and no way to change flash behavior. I’m keeping it as I like adding stuff to my truck but not because I think it’s a need. The lights a bright enough and the flash only works every 12secs. Harnesses are also neatly done and now add a connection cover when not using the pod with the addition of a second harness for constant 12v tapping.

Overall thoughts, had to modify it to get it to not stick out so far. Install was simple and easy, though not much to zip tie excess wire to. Brake and flash functions work well. Backup light illumination with and without is marginal but it is better. (note I have SIRIUS bulbs in the housing already). Gives me a bit more light and presence on the road. I will admit if you’re looking for a lot of illumination this probably isn’t it.

Bought for my 98 jeep zj. Led pod fit right in place of tow. Came with all pictured parts. Does require a 7 pin connector, mine did not have, but thought I could just buy an adapter.. thing is wiring colors are different for my car.. my fault.. had to hot wire it to my taillights, worked fine except the blinking brake, again my fault for hot wiring instead.. other then that they are bright and work good 👍 the price is a Lil high tho, but seems like they are quality leds

Very easy install. Fits my 2020 tundra 2 inch hitch. It has a mold plastic if you have a 2.5 inch hitch. The strobe feature doesn’t really work in mine. I have to test it further, it’s not a big deal for me anyway. The reverse light is very helpful. Although It comes with wiring for a drl feature. There were no instructions that was included neither was the general instruction for the main install. Good thing youtube exists. Either way I would recommend this mod for those who rarely use their tow hitch.

Fantastic fit into receiver. It works as shown and I love it. The only issue I had was with the wiring. I have a jeep 4xe and the towing wire plug is extremely close to the exhaust of the jeep. With the zip ties I tied as close to the bumper as I could but it’s still tight. I know I can hear it now it’s a pet and should run on battery but we all know it’s not always the case. Other than that it’s a fantastic light.

Great product and Easy install, but I wish it was a little brighter.

Throws error codes on my 2025 F150 Tremor. Description says it’s compatible but it’s not.
