Excellent ear plugs, have been using Alpine Sleepsoft for many years
I first bought Alpine Sleepsoft earplugs in my first year at uni to block out the noise of the couple next door... Six years later and I still use them (although not the same pair!). The Sleepsoft 2015 are slightly different to the previous models. In the older model the filter would eventually end up coming loose and falling out, and every morning I'd have to search around my bed to find it and slide it back in. This doesn't happen with the newer version. When you buy this version it also comes an 'ear plug cleaner' although I can't say I've ever used it... I don't think I give my earplugs the love and care they need, but they still last pretty well. These earplugs are reusable and last me several months at a time, they would probably last you much longer than that if you used the cleaner provided/washed them. The earplugs come in a little plastic case with an applicator to help you put them in your ears (I find if I use this I get a snugger fit than if I put them in by hand). I think when people buy earplugs they often have a particular noise that is stopping them sleeping that they want to completely block out (a noisy neighbour, a snoring partner), and then they are disappointed when they find they can still hear the noise through the ear plugs. These ear plugs do not block out all noise, in fact they don't really block out any noise, instead they dampen/subdue the noise. The best way I can describe it is to imagine you are underwater. I can still hear my alarm in the morning, I can still hear my girlfriend if she is talking to me, but everything is muffled. If your partner is a loud snorer you will probably still hear them snoring, but somehow through the filters in the earplug it's just much less irritating. I much prefer this dampening of the noise rather than blocking everything out, as you don't feel so cut off from everything, and in emergencies you can still hear alarms etc. To summarise, if you want to completely block out all noise, these won't do it. If you want to filter out/muffle the noises/make noises you can't do anything about more bearable, then give these a try.

Work well. Excellent value.
These ear plugs have improved the quality of my sleep significantly. As a side sleeper, it took a couple of weeks for me to get used to the feeling of them in my ears; but now, they are super comfortable because they are fully made of soft silicone, with no hard parts at all. They come with a tool to help you insert them properly into the ear. This creates a tight fit, which reduces noise significantly. The performance is better than Flare Sleeep, and they’re more comfortable too. They also come with a nice case to store them in.

Good but not for sleeping next to someone
I recently tried these earplugs for sleep and found them to be quite comfortable and effective, especially if the noise source is in a different room. I had no trouble sleeping on my side, even with multiple piercings, including a conch, which can be an issue with other earplugs that push on them. However, if your partner is a loud snorer and is in the same room, these earplugs will not block out the noise completely. They do reduce the sound slightly, which can help you fall asleep due to the quieter environment, but after a week, the snoring becomes the new normal, and I find myself struggling to sleep again. I’ll continue to use these as a spare pair or when my partner happens to fall asleep after I do, but for snoring-heavy nights, they aren’t a perfect solution.

Great at cancelling noise but too uncomfortable to wear to bed
I bought these earplugs as I have insomnia and have trouble sleeping through loud noises like fast cars/motorbikes and even quieter noises like rainfall. However, I also use an alarm each morning..the Alpine website recommends these earplugs for that exact purpose, 'Noises such as your alarm clock, doorbell or children can still be heard.' They also claim to be 'Very comfortable due to soft AlpineThermoShape™ material'. The earplugs also have a 'minigrip' feature so that you can easily remove them from your ears, and they also claim to be 'especially designed for (side) sleepers.' I have worn these earplugs for three nights and firstly I must say they are very good at cancelling out noise, some very loud noises can still be heard but not enough to disturb you. However, that's about as good as they get. I could hear my alarm but not enough to wake me up fully so I would not recommended you buy these for that purpose. Mainly I did not find them comfortable enough for sleeping. I am a side sleeper and the minigrip feature was very uncomfortable, they stuck out of my ears too much and pushed against the pillow which lead to me trying to find a comfortable position for a while which was irritating. Although the feature does make it easy to remove the plugs so I would say they would be very practical for day time use but I personally definitely wouldn't recommend them for bed. Maybe a bit of a rebrand is needed? For earplugs called 'sleepsoft' you would expect them to be perfect for sleeping. I'll stick to my regular and much cheaper foam earplugs for the night time as they don't stick out of my ears and I can turn from side to side with no disruptions.

Stuck too deep during sleep, unable to remove it, had to go to the a and e.
I bought these ear plugs after reading many positive reviews. My first requirement, apart from hearing protection/insulation, was avoiding infections. These are easy to wash and disinfect and the material itself very delicate so that your ear canal won't be irritated. I used them for 10 days..I managed to sleep through my alarm twice, which is something extremely rare so I thought they were incredible. I also have small ears so I could barely feel them. So far so good. During those 10 days I had one stuck too deep, so when I woke up I couldn't remove it. I used tweezers and managed to do so easily. Second and final time, because I stopped using them, the right one went far too deep, I could no longer remove it by myself and it became extremely painful. I had to rush to the a&e and waste a day. Because of that incidents, I got an outer ear infection as well. So, I am not recommending these to anyone, unless you re design them, with one material (not with detachable parts because it is dangerous) and if you also attach strings on them so even if they go deep in your ear during sleep, you just pull them out with the help of the strings.

Effective night-time noise suppression
Have used Alpine ear plugs at night for several years, this most recent design seems more comfortable and more effective than previous models. Doesn’t totally stop noise but is good enough that noise doesn’t interfere with my sleep. Easy to put in, easy to remove.

More cons than pros -- still in search of the perfect earplug
Having moved somewhere with more noises than I realised (trains, cars, slamming doors, things going on in other flats) I was interested to try some ear plugs that were designed to be reused, rather than going through endless foam ones. Feelings were mixed, though. The good: - True to their description, they gave me a more pleasant 'background' sound than most. They don't attenuate as much as most foam ones, but I found it adequate, and it gave me less of a sense of being 'blocked up' (where the only thing I could hear was my pulse). They are certainly more advanced, and I worried less about sleeping through my alarm (I use the radio) after testing how that sounded. The bad: 1. The silicone they're made of seems to cause two problems: a) They didn't stay in properly. -- they don't 'grip' your ear like foam does. I was forever pushing them back in, half-awake at some ungodly hour. They seem to 'warm' your ear, and the molten wax seem to aid their slippage. b) They seemed to sometimes irritate my ears and I'd want to take them out to have a little scratch -- it seemed like it was to do with heat build-up. 2. In common with other reviewers, the green filter part seems to detach from the main white part after time -- the two are clearly glued and it fails after some months. This leads to the dangerous prospect of getting the white part stuck in your ear -- I teased it out very carefully so as not to 'lose' it, but tweezers were the next thing on my mind! Other reviewers lambasted the 'inserter' they provide, whereas I found it useful and effective at getting them in properly (until they worked their way loose some hours later). All in all, they initially seemed more pleasant, but I wouldn't buy them again due to their shortcomings, and I think the manufacturer needs to revisit how they're put together!

The best ear plugs I’ve tried so far
I relied on these ear plugs completely when I used to work regular night shifts. Tried several other ones, including silicone ones, however these worked best for me. They fit my ears nicely and blocked out the noise. I was sleeping on my own so can’t say how effective they would be at blocking out noise very close by but they worked great for what I needed. I definitely would not have slept as well without them!

Unscrupulous Sellers selling at double the MRP!
The product itself is excellent and easy to use. It provides a fair level of noise attenuation. They are also comfortable to wear through the night. But beware of vendors selling this item at double the Maximum Retail Price. The MRP is Rs. 1,199. Use that as a reference point, and don't be cheated.
