I used the speaker level inputs. No "trigger" or turn-on wire is required when using the speaker level inputs. The amp senses an input signal, and automatically powers up, then powers down when the signal is removed (by shutting down the head unit). Just tapped into the speaker wire in the channel under the door sill cover, and routed the wiring to the back of the rear seat where the amp is mounted. Super easy. I swapped out the factory Chinese paper cone speakers in all 4 doors with Infinity Kappa 6X8's which are specified at 2 ohm load each, so this amp is used as a true 4-channel setup. No bridging. I guess I didn't need to go with so much power... half volume and my ears feel like they want to start bleeding. Sound quality is remarkable. The high power allows for plenty of headroom, and it doesn't lack at all. Tight bass, airy, whispery highs, just what I wanted, and it runs as cool as the other side of the pillow. I'd buy this amp again in a heartbeat. Nice screw terminals for wiring, even has a set of RCA outs for daisy-chaining another to amp, which will be very handy when it comes time for a sub under the rear seat. I'm seriously thinking of another amp identical to this, and bridging the 4 channels to 2 for a stereo sub setup. Love this amp. Serves the purpose, pair it with right 100w component speaker systems. Get the tuning right. Expect a neat balanced output after all this is not a amp to crank. No issues of over heating, I mounted it under seat.

Great amp and fits my system perfectly. 2016 Smart Car Fortwo with 10” slim Pioneer Sub and Alpine Component Speakers in the doors. Awesome power with lots to spare.
