Weruva Wx Phos Focused, Chicken Formulas Variety Pack, 3oz Can (Pack of 12)

Our nearly seventeen-year-old cat has spent his whole life begging for/trying to steal chicken off our plates. He had a pretty rapid loss of weight and appetite several months ago, and we learned he had chronic kidney disease, which was both surprising and scary, because he didn’t have signs of it at his checkup (with bloodwork) six months prior. He needed a low phosphorus diet, and he needed to gain back some weight, but the only food he seemed interested in was chicken. He was NOT interested in prescription renal care food, and he wouldn’t eat anything with phosphate binder powder mixed in. He lost more weight. When I saw a review for Weruva phos-focused chicken in gravy which said it was the closest thing the reviewer found to chicken they cooked themselves, I thought it was worth trying. THEY WERE RIGHT!!! It looks like shreds of chicken in broth. And our ole guy loves it!!! He also loves the chicken purée, which is kind of like a Churu in texture. He’s doing so much better now, and the vet said she loves the quality of Weruva cat food. She also said that the phosphorus levels in his blood had actually dropped (which doesn’t usually happen for cats with CKD). He’s eating other low phosphorus foods now, and some of his prescription food, too! He’s stopped losing weight and just seems happier. I know all cats have different tastes, but for our little chicken fiend, the Weruva phos-focused chicken in gravy was the key to getting him interested in eating again. Since CKD is a progressive disease, I want him to have as many happy moments as possible without putting too much strain on his kidneys—and this food makes him happy. (His brother/littermate and our picky three-year-old cat also love to lick up any of the Weruva that he leaves behind—so that’s also an endorsement for the taste!)

This is a lifesaver for my 18 year old kitty who suffers with allergies, CKD, and FLUTD so this is critical to his life. He loves it and we are so grateful to have this - it’s the only food we can feed him.

First off, my boy cat is so picky, I’ve tried to get him on healthy food and he will only eat fancy feast wet food (although he will eat dry food of any kind). He is turning 13 and the vet suggested putting him on a renal diet just as a protective measure. So I tried this. They both really like it and it looks like human quality food. Not overly smelly, not too thick, lots of gravy which they LOVE. I will definitely buy it again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: my cats like this a lot. i mix a little bit in with their other food. it took them a little bit to get used to. it was not an instant love. but now they are into it! i think the quality is good, and the ingredients are good. let’s get healthy kitties!!!

My cat recently got diagnosed with early kidney disease and he barely ate the expensive prescription food so he was losing weight. I spent money on other wet foods that are suitable for renal cats with little success, until I found this one. Cat approved!

I was really hoping my cats would like this food. I have two cats suffering from kidney disease. They won't eat the Hill's pate, so I was looking for something else they might like. The only way they will eat Weruva is if I mix it with their old food. We have lots to get through but I won't be ordering again.

Not very palatable and we do not have a picky eater. It was difficult to get him to eat this. The paté texture is more of a gelatin texture. Would not purchase again. Still on the hunt for a good low phosphorus wet food.

My cat has thyroid issues and ckd so a low phospherous food is a must. She is now 15 and in good health as both issues are stable. Sophie just loves this.
