I had shopped around for a pair of wellies and after looking at the quality and comfort of some cheaper high street options I ruled them out and went for a pair of hunter wellies. Amazon were also selling these hunters at the cheapest price and I did shop around looking for the best deal. These wellies are comfortable and stylish and I have had many positive comments on how lovely they look! I also purchased them well before the snow hit the UK this year and they have done a brilliant job of keeping my feet dry in deep snow and have also walked through some puddles in the rain. They clean up nicely with a wipe over with a damp cloth. I went down a shoe size when trying these as I am usually a shoe size 5 but after trying size 5 and size 4 I found the latter a much better fit. Love these wellies and hope they last me many years.

I bought the Hunter original in Aubergine in my true size, size 7 . I have narrow feet so they are a little loose and I wondered if the (6) may have been more snug, however I have since bought the Hunter Fleece Socks which make the size (7) fit wonderfully. I bought the Aubergine as I thought it would still be classic but a bit more quirky to traditional black. The aubergine is a dark purple and it is a great colour. The boots are very comfortable to walk in, particularly compared to other wellingtons and they look very smart. I look forward to lots of wear from them. The only problem I had was terrible condition that the item arrived in. Not only did the courier provide mis-leading information with concern to delivery, and I was unable to speak to anyone on customer services to find where the item was, but after having to drive for an hour to the depot to collect the item the box was in a dreadful condition. If this had been a gift I would have had to have sent the item back as the Hunter box was smashed up in several places. I really would like to hear Amazons view on this, as I believe that if you spend money on an item it should arrive in the condition expected. For a brand new item I would not have expected it to arrive so badly. I really think that Amazon should investigate some of their courier and delivery services.

Edit - review updated six months in: I really hope these are fake knock-off because the alternative is that a great British brand seems to have gone sadly downhill. After just a month, a crack opened up in the ankle. I thought maybe I'd caught it on a sharp rock -my fault- so glued it and carried on. One month later a crack appeared along the toe seam. Also glued. Now cracks are appearing everywhere. I was so confident in the brand, I threw out the box and 'certificate' and they're also covered in so much glue, I don't think they would be accepted back. Really sad as they're still really comfortable. For reference, I walked the dog in them for about an hour each day for most of the winter, less so in summer. Mud, pebble beaches, salt water etc - but my husband's Muckboots have weathered fine. If you're tempted to buy these, make sure you keep all the info to return them. _______________________ I love Hunters, always have - they are, for me, the ultimate comfy walking boots where I can go for miles over various terrains without blisters. But I have pretty slim calves and it's still a real struggle to fit anything other than a wellie sock there. I need a heavy duty boot jack to get them off too. The tightness around the calves and ankles is what makes them so comfortable for walking imho so it's not something I would complain about, but I do warn you that unless you consider yourselve to have slim calves, heed the warnings of the other reviews and do not buy these. Instead go for the stretchy/bigger calf version.

Got my hunter wellies from Amazon after finding them about £20 cheaper than elsewhere. I got these after going through several pairs of cheaper wellies. They arrived 2 days after I placed the order using the freepost option. I absolutely love these wellies - they are so comfortable and well worth the extra money. I walk my dog for at least an hour a day in all weathers so these were really needed. I also got my 4 year old daughter a pair and she loves having grown up wellies like Mummy. As I got the wellies cheaper from Amazon, I treated us both to the fleece wellie socks which are really cosy. The only thing I would say is that although they fit me perfectly, it is a bit of a squeeze to put my wellie socks and skinny jeans on at the same time and I have skinny legs. Some women might find them a bit tight around the leg and would be better off with the unisex ones.

Bought boots for my daughter, she is enjoying them and advises they fit perfectly.

It's difficult to size accurately online. The product is wonderful but I was very disappointed with the sizing

My wife normally wears a 7.5 but we needed the 8 for the best fit. They are well made and look fantastic!
