A firm to heavy holding pomade that provides slick styles (contour, pomp, slick back, etc.) that will hold up in some of the harshest climates. Much like a waxy cream, this will scoop and spread easily. The pomade in the hair itself washes out with a single wash and shampoo. Restyling, easy. The pomade will reset after many styles just as good as it did at the start of the day. Directions for use: Scoop out using a finger tip and place into palm. Spread out as a cream with very light agitation between palms and then apply as a cream to towel dried hair. Apply as needed, but use only what is needed. It can be easy to over apply. Since I need to buy hair product on a monthly basis, I started using other products such as Uppercut monsterhold, and eventually started using Black Ship. I was especially surprised with this product because it appeared to have a matte-clay-like appearance; however the recommended portion (dime-sized) gave a strong hold, while not flattening my hair. My hair is exposed to lots of heat and moisture throughout the day, but the product holds up just fine, allowing me to restyle my hair throughout the day without adding more product. As others have mentioned: the scent is very earthy, but it's better than smelling like chemicals. Review: this product is actually legit, moderate shine and excellent hold. yet the downside on this product is that you have to be patient on putting the product because it's not as fluid or soft compared to other pomades (or clay pomades). I usually use clay pomade and it's really easy tp apply but i just wanted to switch and try the pomade by itself. This product is vegan as well which is good for your hair.
