Rockville RockTower 68B 6.5-in Black 3-Way 500-Watt Peak / 125-Watt RMS Home Audio Tower Speakers with Dual Woofers, Passive 8 Ohm, 2-Piece

I created a personal hobby space with in my garage. I brought the Denon AVR-610 receiver in there and wanted to use book-shelf speakers. I tried the Sony SS-Sc5's that are raved about but was disappointed. It needed way more bass so I installed the Sony SA-CS9 Subwoofer still not full sound or volume.. I looked for three-way book shelf speakers and they don't really exist. The Rockville 68 is like a TALL ( 42" ) bookshelf speaker and in fact I put them on shelves 30" above the floor. The Rockville 68 looks like a high end speaker and have got compliments on them. They are on the front channel and the Sony SS-CS9's are on the rear channel where they can only get 20 watts. They sound great, provide rich sound and volume AND they cost about the same as the Sony SS-SC5's. For the price, you get so much more. The Sony have too much high end with a "super tweeter" that goes up to 50 Khz. In my mind they are not 3-ways as advertised- no mid driver. The Rockville 68 can handle more power and will not disappoint and I am certainly glad I found them! They are shipped with double packaging for protection.

They are nice speakers for the price, and I am happy with the purchase. I got them for using with old Fisher amp in a basement workout area and was concerned from other reviews that the bass would be insufficient, but I am very pleased with the bass and the full range of sound from the speakers. They were also packed very well for shipping, double thick cardboard, Styrofoam, plastic wrap etc. Even though the outside of the box was scraped up in a few places, the speakers were safe and sound without any damage.

The sound quality is good for a very afforable price

Good sound a d performance. Both outside speaker boxs were damaged badly. It's great that they are packed in two boxes. The second one as strong as the outside one saved them.

I ordered these speakers for my husband for Father's Day. He was pleasantly surprised when he got them earlier than expected. He likes the look of them and the set up seems to be pretty easy. He likes the quality and the price was definitely more affordable than I thought it was going to be. Thank you for selling quality products.

While these speakers do sound good when paired with a good sub, I have to comment on the fact that these are made in China and what that entails. The binding post came loose the first time I tried to hook wires up to them and were spinning in place. That forced me to have to take it apart to tighten it up from the back side which is when I realized they use 20 gauge wire to go from The binding post to the crossover Network and drivers. Again these speakers sound great but one thing I see coming already is revamping all the wiring and the crossover Network and removing this cheap plastic binding post assembly where one of the four screws was stripped out of the wood from the factory. I suspect with these tiny coils the drivers aren't going to last long with my Yamaha receiver. The second I blow one of these out every one of these drivers is going to be replaced with some good Dayton audio drivers and passive crossovers. I'm sure Dayton's stuff is made in China as well but at least I can get several tiers higher than what Rockville has decided to put in these cabinets. Rockville, I love your products and you make some good expensive stuff that sounds good but the build quality here is just garbage. Sharpen your pencil a little bit.

These are great sounding speakers for the price point. Don’t under power them. Try to get your rms power as close to the speaker’s rated rms power and you won’t be disappointed. They sound great as is. I’m sure adding a sub would only improve the sound but they sound great as is!

Awesome speakers at a great price!! I recommend
