My dog doesnt like it being applied but I give her a treat immediately afterwards to stop her licking it off. One reviewer suggested that vaseline would work just as well. Maybe it would, but I doubt it .... this is a quality product with natural ingredients with a lighter texture and lovely gentle smell. I wish I had taken photos. My Bulldog staffy mix dog had developed a really dry nose which was scabbing. Three days after applying the snout soother I could see a difference. The scabbing was starting to disappear and after one week the dogs nose was healed. The only problem you might have is your dog will try to lick the soother off. To alleviate this problem keep some treats handy when you apply the soother, this should take the dogs attention off the cream. I applied the soother cream 3/4 times a day.
