Nice Watch
So far so good. The watch didn't come with directions for setting the day and date, you have to go online, that's a cheap out to me. Setting both was easy to figure out since I've owned other day / date watches, just pull the stem out to the first stop, wind clockwise for one and counter clockwise for the other. So far the watch has kept good time, at this writing I've been wearing it two weeks. I have a small wrist so fit is just very slightly loose, barely moving on my wrist, not an issue with me. Good looking watch, I like the big numbers so it's easy to read, the glowing face works well, making the watch easy to read in the dark. Based on my time with the watch so far I would buy it again.

Canโt beat this watch for durability and visibility.
Looks good just what I wanted. Quality construction and materials. Very easy to read.

Twice Failed
Bought this watch, first for my dad for Christmas 2025. He has dementia and has trouble reading a watch. This one fot the bill with large, easy to read display, backlight, and water-resistant. It also had the metal, stretch band, which he likes. However, after setting the date and time, found it would not hold time. Replaced the battery with a new one, since it was possible the battery inside the watch was several years old. This did not help. Still kept losing time. Bought another, identical watch and it kept time OK but after a week of use, the second hand completely stopped. Again, replaced the battery but no help. Second hand would never move. Being a Timex, I expected better quality. Will be ordering another brand after this experience. UPDATE*** 3/30/2026 I.have upgraded my review to 5 stars because I took the first watch I bought and set the time and kept it with me. It has held time perfectly. What happened is my dad, who has severe dementia, was messing with it and apparently changing the time but had no recollection of doing something. Therefore, I have changed my eating. The watch is definitely easy to read and the backlight works fantastically. Not a thing wrong with it. However, the second watch i ordered DID malfunction. The second hand just quit working, even with known good batteries.

Easy to read
Easy to read watch with a nice look and comfortable flex band. I bought it to replace a new Expedition that I just could not wear because of the nasty itchy rash I got from the nylon band! This watch is fine, even when I am out in the hot sun and damp I have no reactivity. The day and date are on the small side, and considering that this is called an "Easy Reader" I think that is a flaw. Also I ordered two, one for my husband, and the date was impossible to set. On the one I kept I was able to wind the hour hand around and around to back up two days (yes just like you had to do 40 years ago) to get the correct day to go with the date. the instructions say there are three click stops on the stem, for time day and date, but I only got two to work so sent it back. The return was a mini nightmare, Amazon did not give me the usual option of printing a return shipping label, so I chose UPS pickup. The UPS window was 2-5 days so I put it out about 10am on Friday (day one) and came home to find a missed you label from UPS. The next date for pick up was Monday so I put it out Sunday night and left it there until Tuesday afternoon, then called UPS to see what was up. I got India and the woman told me that there had been a pickup attempt at 8pm on Monday, when I was home watching TV 6 feet from the door. I said nobody knocked on the door and my dogs would have barked. She said they aren't allowed to know on the door. Hello? they knock on the door all the time when dropping off. She said the driver would have the shipping label which was explained on the returns page, but then said Oh but the driver can't put the label on the box, he has to hand it to you and you put it on. So I said Okay and how do I do that if he is not allowed to knock on the door so I know he's here? And how about my job I have to go to every day? I said no wonder UPS is circling the drain! So then she wanted my phone number and I said no, so she said she'd give me a supervisor, put me on hold for 5 minutes and disconnected. So I called Amazon and the rep who was also in India listened politely and sent me a return label. Thank you.

It Is What It Is
It all started when I misplaced my trusty 21 jewels Japanese automatic. Donโt ask me how it happened but it did. Iโm a dad of two, self-employed, always in some sort of situation or another, and no one has accused me of being organized. Itโs probably within twenty feet of me right now, but it could be on the other side of the world for all I know. At any rate, it wasnโt on my wrist anymore and I felt naked. Sure, Iโve got a phone, but I grew up with a watch, spent a lot of time learning to tell time when I was five or six, and Iโm damn sure not letting that all go to waste. I had to find a decent substitute watch until mine turned up. Something affordable, something solid, something utilitarian yet pleasing to the eye. Something that could take a lickinโ and keep on tickinโ. Thatโs it! A Timex. My first watch was a seven dollar Timex I bought with my own money when I was six. I can still remember my dad taking me to the local drugstore after school. It was a yellow brass case Easy Reader with a black rubber strap. A manโs watch, huge on my scrawny boy wrist, but I loved it and had it for many years until at some point it disappearedโฆ.See a recurring theme here? So I began my search for a watch that wouldnโt break the bank or, well, break. As I browsed, I came to this one โ the Timex Easy Reader T20461. I immediately loved the look of it with its white face, Helvetica numbers, red 24-hour feature, silver-brass case, and stainless steel expander bracelet - which reminded me of the twist-o-flex watch bands my dad and grandfather always wore. The watch itself is akin to much more expensive โrailroadโ watches I had admired, but never considered buying. Without thinking twice I threw it into my cart, checked out and the man in brown brought it to my door within two days. Upon opening the box I wasn't disappointed. It looked better than the photos, felt solid and was easy to set. Yeah, the day and date require a little extra effort, but if this ruins your week you probably shouldn't get out of bed. It was the first time I wore an expander watch band and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it didnโt pinch my arm hair at all. Iโm no gorilla, but Iโm not in kindergarten anymore either. One thing did bother me, though. While I appreciated the band, the way it tapers just looked a little lady-like on my wrist. Or maybe it was my wrist making the watchband look lady-like. Who knows? It didnโt bother me too much and I loved the watch, so thought nothing more of it. That is, until I happened upon a watchstrap rack at a large big box store that shall remain unnamed. Hanging there was collection of the old school twist-o-flex expander bracelets I remembered so fondly from my dad and granddad. I found one that matched the shine of the watch case (the original band is a bit dull by comparison), paid a whopping 7 bucks for it (solid stainless steel), took it home, removed a few links to fit my lady-like wrist (itโs not hard โ you just need a decent pocket knife and a set of needle-nosed pliers or tweezers), slid it on my wrist and voila! The perfect watch for me. Easy on, easy off; tasteful styling; understated; doesnโt scream โlook at me, I spend too much money on stuff because I feel inadequate!โ or โMug me! Iโm obviously fiscally irresponsible so relieve me of my money!โ I hope I donโt lose it, but if I doโฆitโs easy to replace. I wear it with pride and canโt recommend it highly enough for men like me that need a practical, no-nonsense, solid, reliable, unpretentious timepiece. So far itโs been dropped several times, drooled on, had coffee spilled on it and I forgot to take it off when I jumped in the shower the other day. Still as good as new. Oh yeah, Indiglo canโt be beat. You might have a Rolex, but your Rolex doesnโt have Idiglo. Sorry to say my other watch still hasnโt turned up. If it does, Iโll be happy to see it, give it a hug, then place it safely in my sock drawer until next time we meet. UPDATE: Still taking a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Has a few character marks now, but runs as well as the day I bought it. Doesn't seem to gain or lose a second. I rarely take it off so it experiences whatever I do. I have, however, traded in the stretchy band for a leather nato that I snagged off another Timex (see pic).

One of the best!
UPDATE 9-19-2015 I still love this watch!! I've gotten a couple scratches on the face over the years but other than that it still looks and works great. Keeps perfect time and it's so easy to read. ------- I've had this watch for almost 2 years and it's been a great and dependable watch. When I first saw it online, the watch looked huge. I purchased it anyway because I wanted a second Timex watch to wear for work. This is my other Timex watch (which I also love) Timex Women's Fashion Two-Tone Bracelet #T25771 . I was so happy when it arrived! While it is much larger than most women's watches (it's advertised as a men's watch) it's a beautiful watch. I love the colors of this watch; blue face with the silver band. The large face makes it so easy for me to see what time it is. I'm a little sneaky sometimes... If I'm in a meeting or speaking with someone and I need to know what time it is, I can very easily, just *slightly* tilt my hand towards me and without moving my face or eyes too much, I can see what time it is on this watch! I don't want to be rude to whoever I am talking with, and this watch allows me to see what time it is with out being overly obvious that I am checking the time! I know, it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I appreciate being able to do that. I get so many compliments on my watch. I've been asked why I am wearing a men's watch and I tell them it's super comfortable to wear and I love the color and the features of the watch. Along with the time, the date is easy to read. Also if I'm in a dark room, the indiglo light works great. Because the watch face is blue, the indiglo light tends to glow a light blue color. Once I show them how awesome the watch is, they want one too and they ask me where I got it! One last thing, both the time and the date are so easy to set! Just takes a few moments to do. I love this watch! I've been very happy with all my Timex watches and they last and last...

Takes a licking, and keeps on ticking!
Thank God I purchased a Timex, again. I have worn the same style, with the same flex type band for 50 years. They always out perform their value. In fact, this latest Timex I bought was ripped out of its original box, taped poorly back in, and of course the Timex was and is great!

Great watch, love it and have it on me everyday. But the indiglo light is not full. Top half is missing. Returned it and got another watch, same issue.

Great Watch
I had this very watch for over 15 years and it worked fine. One day while working on a car, my wrench slipped and my arm went with it. Sadly the watch didn't survive that one as the face smashed into a bolt.. I saw one here and ordered it. Now I'm back in business with a new Indiglo watch. Easy to read dial, lights up at night, speed to set date, flexible bracelet. Perfect, you can't go wrong with this watch.
