GroEgg Thermometer

I purchased this whole it was on sale so it was value for me for me. I actually really like this, it allows us to regulate the temperature in the room as well as providing a nice little night light. The glow from the egg is just right, not bright enough to keep you up but just enough to keep an eye on the little one, I think it’s really useful and accurate and pretty much does what it needs to do out the box

The Gro egg is great it currently sits in our living room as it’s the hardest room to gauge the temperature in and the second most place he spends his time.It will eventually go in my sons nursery. You literally just plug it in and go it takes a few minutes when first plugged in to gauge the temperature. It glows different hues depending on temperature and visibly tells you the temperature to so you can adjust accordingly. It is soft and sleek and blends in nicely. It is an incredibly good price and a great product to have for your baby and price of mind. It is also a great soft night light.

I bought this as we have a sensitive-to-temperature cockatiel bird. We love the room thermometer, it's easy to tell the temperature at a glance from the other side of the room and I love that you can either have the egg lit up fully, dimmed or switched off entirely (the numbers still light up). I would have loved the light level options when my babies were little. A smashing product.

Made some good improvements to the updated GroEgg 2. (I have both versions) Now you can see the colour of the egg on a bright day and you can actually read the temperature from a distance. Accuracy is good for the price, 0.6deg out. However the flaws: - needs another brighter light setting as is not bright enough in a normal to large sized room. - you need to have a dead band/overlap on the temperature bands. The flickering of the light colour at 20deg is annoying. - shade of red light needs to be different as it is too difficult to see in the dark with the current shade - light brightness setting button is on the bottom so you have to lift the egg to change (not easy holding a child) - power cable needs to be more flexible as the egg is light and it can be difficult to position the egg without the cable pulling the egg Don't get me wrong though these are all minor and these egg is best of its kind on the market

Why did you choose this product over others?: Great for my kids helps her sleeps well and tells us the temperature in the room and change colour

Update: after waiting to see if the groegg was restocked to replace the item, luckily I was able to do this. A replacement was sent the next day which so far works perfectly and doesn’t have a faulty connection like the first, so have sent to faulty item back and am now happy with the purchase. Original post: Title: faulty and disappointed with service and options. The packaging on the box was ripped which worried me and then to find out the cable that plugs into the egg is dodgy and doesn’t connect properly so when moving it or changing the light setting the egg would go pink and disconnect and have to reset which has meant the temperature isn’t correct. Tried to go onto my order to exchange but only says can exchange for a more expensive one which I’m not willing to pay for. Should be exchanged for the same item so not very happy.

It’s quite pleasing to look at - gives a nice glow to the room, but I would have to agree with the many other reviews I have read, saying that the temperature is not accurate. Fact - the temperature is not accurate. It is always showing 2 degrees warmer than the room actually is. So basically - it kind of defeats it’s purpose. I think it is over priced for what it is (even with Amazon’s reduction). Not worth any more than £15 I would say. But hey ho - it gives a nice glow.
