Fantastic value
I have owned and used this pointer for 9 months or so because I couldn't afford or justify a Mafell. I read lots of bad reviews on you tube but felt if it didn't work it's not a lot to lose. Straight from the box it has been fantastic, accurate easy to use and productive. What more do you want. You could buy 6 of these for 1 Mafell. Stop dithering and get one. Great product Triton.

It works
This machine has mixed reviews and I understand why. For the price, it does the job and it's not a bad tool, although it is not accurate. If you're interested in cabinet making or joinery as a hobby it's absolutely fine, but not good enough for professional use. Great value for money but for me it's not a good tool, that being said 3 stars would have been a harsh rating given that it's so inexpensive compared to its mafell and festool competitors.

Works well so far :-0)
Ok, so I have you tubed this item and read lots of reviews. Most say its no good not accurate and the spring is to stiff. Well, it arrived yesterday in good time and today I have it a go on 2 gash bits of wood. Mine works well with good accurate drilling. I was thinking I might need to make some of my own adjustments but all is good. Only thing I to point out is the window with the center line is very very slightly off. So I decided to try my second cut using the center line in the casing. Its spot on. So far I think its great and for very little money I give it 5 stars. I might adjust the window mark but then again might just use the casing mark.

Beyond acceptable inaccuracy.
I bought this for a project being unable to locate my dowelling jig (I found it before delivery so didn’t test imediately) it is awful. The guide fences are not square, the alignment scribes in the viewing window are inaccurate, the worst element though is the arbors are at different depth settings. The first two problems are adjustable and can be overcome but the arbor alignment-critical to material placement-is factory set and therefore completely negates the purpose of the tool. To make the experience worse Amazon have a manufacturer link for support that takes you to Triton showers website! Really unhappy with this POS.

Pleasantly surprised...it works absolutley fine.
With all the negative reviews I was a little unsure about buying this, but from Amazon of course you are safe. As far as I am concerned it is easy to use, easy to set up, accurate and works! It makes using dowels dead easy instead of the hit miss it used to be. Super value for money (a domino version from a well known make is over £1000!) All I can say is read the instruction, test each setting against a ruler, test the tool with some "scrap" wood, you will not find anything easier or better.

Great machine - Love it
Despite the negative reviews I bought the Triton instead of the more expensive versions for DIY at home. It came in a great carry bag and seems solid enough. No issues with the fence moving or the mechanism being rough or tight. I plugged it and used it. Alignment out of the box was spot on and the joint was perfect. I don't know if it would be good enough for a professional cabinet maker but this is a great little machine for what I need it to do and.......nearly 10 times cheaper than the more expensive ones.

Spend one quarter of what you might have done.
I had watched various video's on YouTube some of them, not that positive. However overall, I thought I'd take a chance and I'm so glad I did. A slight adjustment here and there, the pressure on the spring didn't cause me any issues. The sight line on the plastic viewing plate was spot on . Too many people are becoming obsessed with state of the art beautiful tools that cost 4 times what a comparison tool can do equally well. This dowler will do what you want it to. It's not shiny it's a practical tool.

Rediculously inaccurate
Haven't used it yet but just looking at it out of the box it is insanely inaccurate, casting lines are not inline with the drill bits, guide window lines not even inline with the casting lines, measurements from outer edges of the face plate to drill bit centres are different, this is seriously what I would consider a £60-£80 tool from the standards of it, I'm not even going to bother using it, what's the point if I have to spend time messing about making measurements, wouldn't be so bad if the drill bit centres were the same distance from the face plate sides or if the drill bit centres were out by the same measurement to the casting lines but everything is just out, I might spend a few minutes seeing if I can make some fine adjustments but it just shouldn't be needed to be done, I don't understand how it's been made so badly, as it sits I'd be more confident using a £20 dowel jig and getting better results. Update: couldn't make adjustments, after spending about an hour measuring from the drill bit centres the bits were out by 4mm to the sides of the face plate, so from the right drill bit looking face on to the right side of the face plate was different by 4mm to the left drill bit to the left side of the face plate, also there was a difference in height of the drill centres by 2mm to the top and bottom of the face plate, there was also a lot of slop in the slide so with the bits fully extended they would wiggle, I sent it back but was considering getting an exchange but I doubt the next one would be any better, seem these are just extremely poorly made and are extremely over priced for its quality, if accuracy is important to you then this machine isn't worth the headache, for butt joints a simple £20 jig will be much better, I wanted this for waterfall joints and it's just not anywhere near accurate enough for that, back to eBay on the search of a cheap festtool domino jointer, don't know why no one hires them out.
