Kurust Rust Remover for Metal

Worked like a dream. quick and easy to apply and neutralised the rust on my tow bar brackets. A little goes a long way so don't dispense much at a time. It's also a watery liquid and drips easily, start from the top and word down using the running liquid as you go. It turned the metalwork blight blue before drying to a black finish ready for painting.

Now don't get me wrong this is a brilliant product and the original item I had lasted for years. This arrived and thinking I'd got it for a good price realised it is only 90ml. Tiny compared to what I thought I was buying. See photo. Maybe another case of shrinkflation!. So long a I don't lose the smaller bottle (bit small to find maybe) it should last years of use. The last time I used this was for metal garden stakes. The bottom, no doubt painted well, will get paint damaged when pushed into soil and thus will over time rust. I regularly give these a thin surface coat which from pink changes to black to match the metal stakes. Excellent stuff ... Other sizes are available.

This stuff is not bad. Not quite 5 stars though. I have included a before and after of the frame of my front door which was very, very rusty, due to the displacement of the seal around the frame. The 'after' was after two thin coats of the rust converter, with an hour's drying time in between. Though runny, the liquid is quite easy to apply. Firstly, as other reviewers have stated, pour a small amount onto/into a separate container - I used a teacup saucer. This prevents any contamination of the remaining unused liquid. Before applying, lightly remove any surface rust with gentle sanding. Apply in thin coats with a small artists brush, if you are covering a small area like me. Leave to dry. I would suggest at least 30 minutes - then apply another coat if necessary. Though the liquid did not quite convert all the rust to the required smooth surface area I was hoping for the results were pretty good. It remains to be seen how it performs in the long-term...

Does a good job that does what it says on the tin with good coverage that's stain resistant and leaves a good finish .

Haven’t used a product like this for many years; the technology must have moved on over the decades, as this product worked very quickly & cleaning the brush was easy.

Arrived on time and did a good job covered up rust and went along way

Great stuff does exactly what it's supposed to do

An excellent product, just paint it on and the rust turns black in a few minutes - and doesn't rust again
