Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: My take-aways - I would recommend Rita's PMP Exam prep book if you have limited time to devote to passing the PMP exam. Rita's PMP Exam prep book is written to help you become a better project manager from the PMI point of view, and as a result, makes it easier to pass the PMP exam. From my experience, memorizing to pass the PMP exam is equivalent to "accepting a medium risk of passing". Three key takeaways from Rita's PMP Exam prep book: * Adapt the book to your reading style; not vice versa. * Develop the Rita's PMP Exam prep book "PMI-ism" thinking as you read along; I believe it is a fail-safe option to passing the PMP exam. * Practise answering questions by asking "What process (e.g. Develop Charter, Define Scope etc.) does this question relate to?" as it enhances the probability that you select the right answer. PS Make sure you use the latest edition of Rita's PMP Exam prep book! Review: Essential study aid for your PMP exam - Having used this book as an additional course aid to passing my PMP exam, I must thoroughly recommend it. The book is logically laid out and structured by knowledge area, containing useful tips and practical exercises throughout plus relevant exam practice questions at the end of each section. I achieved top grades in four of the five exam domains at first attempt which I could not have managed without the use of this book. Essential study aid for your PMP exam.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading through this book
Thoroughly enjoyed reading through this book! This is all the PMP exam prep material you'll ever need. I found the material so well explained, so easy to understand. Read through it once (twice or thrice recommended); sat my PMP exam; PASSED at first attempt. Thanks Rita!

Best book to get you prepared.
I passed my PM exam yesterday after 3 long months of revising. Reading this book day in day out. Couldn't recommend this book enough. Easy to read and has you hooked from the first chapter, so much so that you actually enjoy reading it! Pros: - Flow of chapters and ease of read - Questions after each chapter - Term definitions well described - The PMI-isms, definitely bearing in mind whilst you read through - Different types of questions - All the exam tips - WOW - All the mathematical concepts and calculations are well explained with plenty of practice. Rita says in the book that you will appreciate these questions in the exam and I certainly did. THANK YOU Cons (my personal experience) - I personally couldnt understand the difference of when to use the PERT formula or the standard triangular one, even after the explanation in the book and the PMBOK guide. I struggled in the practice q's and in the real exam. There was actually about 4 or 5 questions on this so i was getting quite frustrated in the exam - Chapter Three - (the framework) was mind boggling. I had a go at doing the chart a couple of times and failed miserably as i didn't understand most of the concepts and why they were done in a certain order. HOWEVER, after giving up on the chapter, and completing the book everything made perfect sense and i later went back and smashed it. - The question examples were very wordy, i found in the exam that was not the case. Well not as bad as the book My advice to those preparing 1. Purchase this book 2. Read each chapter and highlight important things. Especially gaps in your knowledge and exam tips. 3. Have a go at the questions straight after reading each chapter (even though she says wait until the end of the book - dont!) 4. Skip Chapter 3 and come back to it at the end, as that's when it will make sense. 5. Re read the entire book again, skimming over your highlights 6. Have a go at doing all questions in one sitting. Make a note of your weak areas as you mark your results 7. HeadFirst have published a free set of 200 questions, have a go at that. Its available on their website 8. Download some apps for your phone or handhelds, and try some practice questions. Great thing is you will be able to do them on the train, bus, plane, in bed. I tried a couple, the best was PMPro, as you didnt need access to the internet, and it had a term definition dictionary and a really handy tool for seeing all the inputs and outputs for the different processes. I actually just had a look at this the night before the exam instead of reading through the book. After now passing the exam, i found out there is a website with free webcasts and practice questions that seems to have helped people out there so you can check that out too - www. pmstudy.com Good luck to everyone studying out there.

Great book, even if you're not prep'ing for the PMP
I read this book cover to cover when prep'ing for my PMP (which happily I passed first time) and as I read it I thought it kinda did itself a dis-service...... it's not just a great book for PMP prep, it's actually a really good book for a new PM or even an experienced one..... yes we do tend to forget a lot of this stuff and just get into a "this is the way we do it" syndrome. I highly recommend it, and ok it's not the cheapest PM book, but I reckon it's a good investment for any PM.

Great book- Fun to read
Great book! I have carefully read it twice along with PMBOK and I passed the PMP test for the first time. I not only recommend this book for PMP test takers but also for those who are involved or going to be involved in projects on any level. I especially like the tone of the book. It is fun to read!

Well organised and very helpful
I used this book and found it so handy. A well organised book, both from a exam and knowledge perspective. I cleared my exam in the first attempt. Knowledge areas like Cost, Time and Procurement are the ones that I have extensively studied from this book. I enjoyed studying this book as part of my preparation for PMP.

I just successfully passed my PMP Exam on the first attempt. It took me four months to achieve this goal once I set my mind to seriously preparing for it. Keep in mind, that I was randomly selected for PMI's 20% Audit of my application, so this added about 2 months to my prep time. I cleared the audit with no issues, but it did take time due to the process. This book is the single biggest reason that I was able to pass on the first try, and I strongly recommend using it as your primary source for preparation. Each chapter corresponds to a chapter in the PMBOK 5th Edition, so I would read each chapter in Rita followed by the PMBOK Chapter. Once I completed each set of chapters in the 2 books, then I would move onto the next chapter. I would highlight key concepts in both books as I read them. Once I made the first run through each book, I went back through Rita again, and answered each of the review questions at the end of each chapter. I also reviewed each corresponding chapter of the PMBOK, but focused on the key concepts' that I previously highlighted only in both sets of books. I also purchased the corresponding Rita Flash Cards and reviewed these when I had a few minutes of down time at my Kids' soccer practices or on my lunch hour. This reinforced the concepts in the Rita Book and PMBOK. Finally, I took 4 x full length practice tests and answered a total of about 2,000 practice questions (using PMP apps on IOS that you can purchase at a reasonable price) prior to the exam. 4 days prior to the exam I went through my highlighted areas in each Rita Chapter again. 2 x days before the test, I took a full length practice test (one of the 4 I previously mentioned). The day before the test, I went through the flash cards again. All of this helped me successfully pass. I spent no more than 2 hours per day studying due to job and Family constraints. Plus, after 2 hours, i would lose focus. The bottom-line is that this is a very difficult test, and you must thoroughly prepare or you will fail. However, this book is great focal point for your preparation, and if you follow it and thoroughly prepare, then you should be able to pass on the first try. I use this book regularly in my job as a good reference.
