Nice general use spindle
This is a nicely turned light wood ( in colour and weight ) high whorl drop spindle. It weighs approximately 2 Oz by my old fashioned kitchen scales and spins true. Good value for money.

I love it!
A lovely tool and a joy to use. I've just ordered another so that I can ply direct from the spindles. I completely agree with the reviewer who says it's so much fun for so little money. I've been spinning on a wheel for some time but this is my first drop spindle. I love it! I find I am learning so much about the wool and improving my drafting technique. As there is no notch on the whorl the yarn may slip. I've tied a piece of wool from the top of the shaft to just under the whorl, which keeps your yarn in place. You can see how to do it on YouTube.

Absolutely great, well made etc just wish it had a natch to keep yarn from slipping!

Spindle
No notch for guiding the wool although my friends who are expert spinners state it is a good beginners spindle and would have benefited from the notch.I have yet to try it.

Great balanced 49g drop spindle
Great small drop spindle, seems robust enough to handle plenty of drops for beginners and advanced users. I have used it for wool and plant fibre spinning successfully. Well balanced spin. Smooth finish. The one I received weighs 49g which I find suitable for a variety of different things.
