Mira Jump

I've only just installed this and used it a few times so I can comment on the long term reliability. The only problem installing was the QR code in the box - which is supposed to take you to an installation video on the manufacturers website doesn't do so. It takes you to the website and reports an error! Not very joined up MIra! That said, its not a complicated install, the template and instructions marry up well. The unit and fitting are all quite robust and there's enough space inside to access the connections with resorting to contortions or skinning knuckles. In operation, the unit warms up quickly and there seemed to be plenty of heat power in reserve to cope with variation in the inlet water temperature. Switch off is practically instant and it is certainly going to be a big improvement and saving over the old mixer unit on the bath that was fed from the immersion heater tank. How could Mira improve it? Fix the video link and maybe include a soap dish mounted on the pole.

Would have been 5 stars , why do Mira change the shape of the sport making it a more difficult job to install a new one . The company that sold this did so at a good price , prompt delivery and a good product so far

Works well for the power rating, as this replaced a 25 year old equivalent Mira Sport. The only small criticism, is the pole plastics. The anti-syphon hose guide seems too lightweight/flimsy for long-term wear and tear, and it doesn't let the hose run through freely. Also, the old one had a soap dish on the rail. (I realise most folks use non-bar soaps these days)

Easy swap for the DIYer. Slight fettling of the mounting plate and a new olive for the pipe fitting. On and working in 30 mins.

The Mira Jump replaced a shower that had been in use for 15 years. It’s compact, cheap and has a range of installation options on the backplate. Unfortunately it hasn’t been popular with family. The flow was always very low in comparison to the old shower, which proved very unsatisfactory. It’s nice looking, but the screws for the cover are on top and difficult to access, they would have been better at the bottom where there has to be space for the hose, anyway. A better range of rear entries would have helped installation too. The worse thing was the solenoid coil that operates the water solenoid valve failed after18 months. These were a faulty batch that appeared in early 2020. In summary, low water flow and unreliable with some design flaws.

This shower is pretty cheap and works fine but essentially it's a consumable item. I get 2 or 3 years out of them before they break. Mind you we have 6 in the household and it gets a fair bit of use. We also live in a very hard water area too so that doesn't help. The shower hose usually breaks after a year too. Overall an ok product but don't expect it to last forever.
