This has ended a long search I prefer a particular pencil with eraser on the end but the rubber is usually hard and ineffective, but this is a more than adequate substitute. It has the quality of a hand held rubber without the inconvenience.

Really glad I bought them now, they are far and away the best for any type of pencil, including coloured and charcoal. They erase gently without damaging paper or smudging. They fit securely as well. We have a wide assortment of erasers from hard rubber to soft gum, for art project and these are far and away the best.

**Q: How well do they erase on newsprint, like for my daily paper crossword mistakes???**
A: I've not used them on newspaper, but I'm a homeschool mom that does a lot of erasing w my kids and these erasers are our favorite. I can't imagine an eraser working any better than these on your crosswords.
