Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket, Single Bed, 72x135cm

Writing this review with it on right now. Warm, Comfortable and Easy to Use. I’ve had this electric blanket for about 3–4 months and I’m very satisfied. I even took it to Kenya while travelling and it worked perfectly for slightly chilly nights. Now in my first UK winter, it’s been amazing. It warms up fairly quickly around seven minutes for full temp and the highest setting is more than enough for me, as a person that is always cold. It’s on the smaller side as it doesn’t cover the whole bed, but it covers where you sleep so that’s fine. The only minor issue is the plug area, which can be a little uncomfortable if you sit on it, but it’s usually at the edge of the bed so it’s not a problem. The settings are easy to use, it feels safe, and it seems well-made. I haven’t washed it yet and probably won’t, but I don’t expect any issues otherwise. Overall it’s a great value for money and very reliable.

I honestly don’t know how I managed without this electric blanket before. It’s made such a difference, especially during those chilly winter evenings. Albeit my review is a bit late since the weather is warm right now but I am here to share my experience during the colder periods since I have been using this product for almost a year. It fits nicely onto our double bed using the corner straps—super easy to set up and stays in place without bunching up. The three heat settings are perfect: low for just taking the chill off, medium for most nights, and high for those really cold ones. Heats up pretty fast too, so the bed’s warm by the time I get in. I was a bit unsure about safety at first, but the overheat protection gives peace of mind, and I’ve had no issues. It’s also machine washable, which is a big plus for me—I’ve already washed it once and it came out fine. It doesn’t feel bulky under the sheet either, just soft and comfortable. If you're someone who struggles to warm up or just wants that cosy, toasty bed feeling, this blanket is honestly worth it. Great value and quality from a trusted brand like Silentnight.

Selected this underblanket because the mechanical switch on my existing one was making poor contact and getting hot, this one has an electronic controller and seems to work well. Time will tell. The heat levels are good: I use position 4 for half an hour ahead of getting into bed then select level 1 (or 2 if it’s a very cold night). It has a built-in timer and switches off after four hours which I find very useful as I used to wake up in the early hours because I’d get too warm. The only niggle I have with the blanket is the method of securing its position on the bed, just elasticated straps round the width of the mattress. I have my bed at a slight slope with the foot of the bed a few inches lower than the head (helps with reflux), but with nothing to secure the blanket in that direction it works its way down the bed by a few inches per night. Why Silentnight didn’t use the usual method ( loops for string at top and bottom as well as two at each side) for this blanket was not used baffles me, it’d have been cheaper as well as more effective. So it loses a star because of this.

Seems ok. Not used as yet but tested and it heated quickly. I would have liked the controller to be on the other side but that’s just a minor niggle. Basically it does what it says on the tin and it’s very good value

Great electric blanket. Bought for back pain relief and it is great. Heats up quickly. I have a small double and the double size fits it perfectly. Only downside is new push button dial good but if your used to the old dial you could permanently keep on no 3 and use a smart plug to turn it on whereas this needs to be physically set to work. Not worth losing a star for though. Overall a great electric blanket.

I bought this for my girlfriend so she could heat her side of the bed without warming up the whole mattress, and it has worked exactly as we hoped. Choosing the single size was a great decision because it gives her a cosy, warm side of the bed while leaving my side at a normal temperature, so neither of us ends up too hot. She genuinely will not stop raving about it and has declared it one of the best presents I've ever bought her, which is both impressive and slightly embarrassing given how simple the gift is! It heats up quickly and provides a comfortable, even warmth throughout the night. The controls are easy to use, making it simple to adjust the temperature to suit her preference, and it fits the mattress well without feeling intrusive. Overall, it's been a brilliant purchase that has made colder nights much more enjoyable. If you have a partner who is always cold and while you struggle to cool down, this might just be the perfect gift.

For an £80 saving, is say that overall, this was worth the buy! For me, the first heat setting (no: 1) is pretty pointless as I can't feel a thing, but the second and third heat setting are just lovely and warm. The third heat setting can be a little too warm so I use that only for about five minutes when I'm just settling down for the night and turn it down once my bed is nice and toasty. The only problems I encounter was the actual fitting if the heater, way too difficult if you've got a double or king size bed! The agony of having to create the attachment pattern displayed in the booklet was an absolute nightmare, it wasn't overly clear by the instructions just how to do it, it's certainly not a one man job! In the end I didn't bother with the elaborate attachment pattern and just put the blanket on in my own way, I used the strings and wrapped them as tightly as I could all the way around my mattress. Ok, I have to straighten it out from time to time but that's no big deal for me and doesn't change the fact that the heater works very well when in use. I'd advise never to fall asleep with it on at all, not even on the lowest setting as I woke up one morning sweating like hell, the bed was really damp because I was so cozy I'd forgotten to turn it off. I wouldn't have paid £100 pound for this but would have quite happily paid about £40. I got mine for £20 and it's the best thing that I've ever done as I don't need to rely on an electric fan heater on the edge of my bed when the nights are bitterly cold, once my bed is warm I can either turn it down or turn it off. It doesn't take long to feel the difference but you have to wait a few minutes just for it to warm up, if you wiggle your legs around underneath the covers when the blanket is on you'll get a feel for just how warm the second and third settings are. For those of you who are heat sensitive, I'd read over the health warnings stated in the booklet as its real easy to underestimate just how warm this heater can get. You may also need an extension cable depending on where your bed is located as the lead provided is not that long, just be aware of that.

Good quality product, Just place it under the sheet turn it on for half hour before you go to bed and you’ll have a warm bed for all night.

I bought this as a gift for a friend, and unfortunately, it does not seem to provide much warmth. I was very disapoinyed when she told me that now after three days is still not working.While a slight warming sensation can be felt after an hour, it is not long-lasting, and it takes a full hour for it to begin working.
