Gave this to my kids (one each) for Christmas and since then, we've expanded the Tonies collection ten fold.... They're great tools to keep your kids busy for an average of an hour per Tonie. The sound quality is ok from the speaker but they use wired headphones with limiters. Quality is good as they're dropped them off of a dining table on to a wooden floor a few times. It still works! The individual Tonies are well made as I've stepped on multiple Tonies and, like Legos, hurt but don't break. There's a lot to be had here in forms of entertainment and learning. The learning Tonies are nice but I feel that my kids learn better with visuals as well. The design is easy to learn usage wise in regards to charging, volume control, and usage. Each Tonie averages $15-$20, depending on where you buy and licensing.

What sets the Toniebox apart is its simplicity. Children place a character (Tonie) on the box to start playing audio and remove it to stop. Swapping figures changes the story or activity, making it intuitive and endlessly engaging. Parents will appreciate the lack of screens and the focus on tactile play. The Toniebox Audio Player Starter Set is a charming, screen-free entertainment option that blends fun and learning seamlessly. With its durable design, intuitive functionality, and beloved characters, it’s a fantastic choice for young children and a gift that will grow with them.

This has been a game changer for bed time. As an adult, I slept with the tv on at night. Carried it over when I had my daughter. She would wake up and want to watch tv or not go to sleep for hours after I fell asleep watching tv. I knew we had to turn the tv off and get some quality sleep. I did try other methods but we had meltdown after meltdown. Once we got our Tonie, the first night, we watched tv for ten minutes, turned it off and we both fell asleep to a story. This has been our routine for the vast two months and I couldn’t be more grateful. It is super easy for my four year old to use. The only time I have to ever intervene is when it needs charging. Otherwise, she is able to change characters and increase the volume on her own. We did have a technical issue with our Tonies but Tonies provided easy instructions to troubleshoot the box. They were quick and descriptive with their responses and even followed up when I had forgotten to respond. They took care of us and we couldn’t be happier with our investment for our child!

I had an EASY time connecting this. I watched YouTube tutorial and looked up Reddit troubleshoot reviews before I received it to make sure it would work and I’d know what to do before I got frustrated if it came to that based on so many reviews here. I have Starlink and am not able to choose whether to connect to 2.4ghz or 5ghz so I’m glad it worked!! Used my laptop and followed instructions perfectly. I got the cursed “hedgehog” page I read a bunch about for about 3 seconds before it fixed itself and connected perfectly. All of the tonies work. Great sound. There is no off switch. Just have to wait the 10min of no use for it to turn itself off. I wish there was a button to change song/ story instead of hitting the side of it, but it’s built for toddlers??? I have a 2yo and she figured out changing the characters and how it worked IMMEDIATELY and loved dancing around it and having a blast. I wish they would sell some of these with matching books for audio!!! I know you can get a lot of the books separately but to have the stories in one book to match with the Tonie would be super ideal. Still, I love that you can collect and choose the ones you do want. I think this is great and so worth it on a hot sale!!!

I bought the Tonies Box for my two year old for Christmas. This was her “big” gift for the holiday and I set it up the night before. Pros: - Child friendly, the box is soft, the light in the top flashes blue but then turns green when a character is connected. - My toddler can easily change the song or story by hitting the side of the box. I love how kid friendly the features are. - The characters have so much content. Lots of songs and stories. There is a lot of content for each character and I like the variety of characters available. - When the device is connected and working properly it responds very quickly to being activated. My daughter loves to lift the characters up and make the music stop, then put it back to start it up again. I was initially worried it would take time to recognize the character and lose her attention, but it’s so quick! Cons: - Luckily I was able to connect the device with little trouble, however, I dislike that you have to restart the entire registration process if something during the set up goes wrong. For example, I entered my Wifi password wrong and instead of being able to just re-enter it I had to do the entire registration process again. - After successfully setting it up, the Tonies app suddenly became unavailable on Christmas morning and the device wouldn’t connect at all. When something goes wrong, the device won’t give you any indication of what to do. Instead it will give you a “support word” and you have to search the app for the word to find out what’s going wrong. My support word was “owl” and once I searched for it the app said there was no information it could give for that support word. So frustrating! - The cost for the device isn’t so terrible, but it’s the characters that drive up the price. At $17 a character, it’s difficult to build up enough without spending a pretty penny. I like that this set came with a few characters to get you started. Overall, my daughter loves it and plays with it every day. I would definitely buy it again.
