Great Value For Money
This set of sharpening "stones" is really good value for money. After having browsed around for sharpening stones that I can use to sharpen/hone my chisels and my plane irons, the choice seemed to be either spending a small fortune buying individual stones of more or less exotic character and price, or give this set a go. In order to get the best results with this set I glued the plastic side of the stones to a scrap granite tile. This ensures a flat grinding surface and stops the stones from sliding around on your workbench. Initially I thought that the stones were all a bit on the rough side, not really matching the "coarse, fine, and extra fine" description, but after sharpening a set of 6 chisels the roughness has worn down to fit my expectations. I was then thinking that I had already worn the stones out, but that was not the case. I have just re-established a 25 degree bevel on my 1 inch chisel (that had a 30 degree bevel so a lot of material had to be taken off), and the coarse stone did that just fine in less than 5 minutes. Not knowing what the grit of each stone is can be an issue, but as the grit of a diamond stone will always wear down gradually, and the abrasive value deteriorates accordingly, it seems not to be a too big issue for me. After having taken the initial roughness out of my set of stones I am guessing that the grits will be somewhere in the area of 200 for the coarse, 400 for the fine, and 800 for the extra fine, but that's just a guess. A set of expensive diamond stones might very well last a lot longer, and be of better overall quality, but for my requirements this set works perfectly and can be replaced at a fraction of what an expensive set costs. NB! A lot of people have been complaining that the colour coded plastic part and the "stone" come apart with use, but I have been spraying mine with loads of water, and worked them quite hard as well, without this happening so far.

Good value
this set of diamond sharpening stones comes in 3 grades, coarse, medium and fine and are relatively inexpensive compared to the price of a good India stone. They are a bit short, making them slightly awkward if used in combination with a honing guide as you will have a limited run, but for hand sharpening and honing thery are good and will help keep a good edge to ground chisels and plane blades. I have fixed mine to some short lengths oo timber so I can hold them in a vice: keep well lubricated and cleaned and they are an efficent sharpening tool.

Good starter stones for the price
I used Draper spray adhesive to glue these to a wooden board for ease of use when sharpening chisels and plane blades. The coarse and medium grades are actually quite coarse and rarely used. The fine one gets the most day to day use. They are reasonably flat, although one of the plates was bent and pulled away from the plastic backing when it arrived. I put a bit of super glue in and held tightly in a vice to hold it straight and now it's fine. They are not as flat as sandpaper glued to glass or an expensive diamond sharpening stone (by the likes of DMT or EZE Lap) but they are quite flat and do a good enough job for the price. The holes in the plate can make sharpening very narrow blades quite difficult but for the price it's a great starter set. These are good as a cheap stepping stone towards a full set of more expensive stones.

Good but small
It sharpens very well and fast, however I will remove one star because it is too small, which makes it very difficult to sharpen large knives or small swords on a table and one star for the super slippery plastic bottom, which means you have to nail it or somehow confine it on the table in order to sharpen at all.

Pleasantly surprised
Being a sharpening junkie I have seen the high cost of diamond abrasives over the years and the traditional alternative the japanese water stone. I wanted something to flatten cast glass and at this price thought it was worth a shot. Used both wet and dry these diamond stones are excellent for cold working glass, the cut rate is very fast and the surface quality is more than acceptable. The only question is how long will they last? But to be honest at this price its not an issue its almost worth keeping a few in hand. My only desire is for an even finer cut stone to get an even better polish.

Good for the price.
Good for the price. There are few points which could be improved. They are small and slide a lot during sharpening, you will need to fix them on a board or come up with another idea. Also using glass cleaner (glass, not window cleaner !!!) instead of water will improve results. I sharpened knives a chisels, both worked well. You may not get an extra sharp edge with these plates, some stropping or a finer stone advised. Overall they are fine for kitchen knives but i would get something better for tools or expensive knives.
