I've been looking for this for years!
The couchmaster is a horribly named ugly monstrosity that I absolutely love. I want to be able to sit with my family at night when I'm playing games on my computer. For this reason I switched to a laptop gaming computer years ago, but have never found a great solution for using it on the couch. Gaming laptops are big heavy beasts. Mine has a big ole cooling fan under it, and then I want a good amount of space to use a mouse next to it. Basic laptop tables just didn't cut it, until I found the couchmaster! This thing is so basic but it's just want I need. You get two big solid foam arm/table rests. Nothing special but they are sturdy and comfy enough. You get a big ole slab of well crafted wood with some vent holes in it. And thats it! foam and wood. But it works great in it's simlicity. Since it's three separate pieces it easily breaks down for storage when not in use and just sits next to the couch. Once you get used to it, it's pretty easy to get in and out of. I think it's way overpriced for what it is. But it's the only thing out there like it. It's well crafted, and it works. I'm happy to pay the premium if it checks those last two boxes. If you want something like I describe above look no further

Don’t knock it until you try it
I have a horrible back, and I work best from a bed. This was an impulse purchase for me, willing to try it, and if it didn’t work out, return it. It comes with three main pieces. The two side pieces need to air out overnight to expand properly. The main heavier piece is the meant to go on top of the side pieces, with you inbetween. I thought the idea of it was stupid at first, but I gave it a try and almost immediately realized its utility. It’s like a fully functional desk, with room for a laptop, keyboard, and mouse. It also frees up your lap, and there’s still plenty of space to move your legs around. I have a 13” and 16” laptop and both work perfectly fine on this desk, with plenty of room for a mouse. You can slide it forward and backward to get in and out of it. Just make sure you have a non-slip mousepad (or use the one included) as the wooden top is a bit slippery. The two sides are pretty well made. They can be vacuumed, are light enough to carry (albeit a bit bulky), and have so far survived eight cats. If you’re worried about size, it is possible to use this on a queen size bed with a bed mate. It does take up a little more than half the bed width. With a king size, this thing should be no problem. Overall, I recommend this product for its usefulness and attention to quality materials.

The Product I Never Knew I Needed
This lap desk is 100% affected by your chosen surface to work on. On a couch or bed, it's great and the cushions add some important utility. In a chair, I'd ignore the cushions and just use the bamboo top. It is HUMONGOUS if you use the two side-cushions. They are helpful, with a couple little pouches (one is velcro-attached, with a shockingly strong adhesive strip to hold it to the couch for the hook-side) to store doodads, cables, etc. There is, of course, a can- or bottle-holder as well. It's an elastic/mesh pocket similar to one on the side of a backpack, so not good for cups. They also have nice leather tops that make them comfy armrests. The side cushions support the desktop and keep it from sliding around, but you will get "trapped" so I'd only use them if you don't plan on getting up for awhile. They also have a very "gamer" aesthetic, with an urban digital camo pattern. The desk surface is a nice black-painted bamboo, with a big cutout under the left-side laptop position for air circulation. This is not meant for lefties, but can be used as such with either some modification, or just thermal compromise. It's large enough to fit a 15" gaming laptop (I use an Acer Triton 500) and a typical hard- or soft-mousepad. It includes one, but I chose to put my own Acer RGB pad on it. There is a nifty little cellphone/tablet slot on the upper right of the workspace that's wide enough for an iPad or 8-10" Android tablet in landscape mode. It is very narrow and shallow though, maybe 1/2" wide and 5/8" deep, so you can't put a phone or tablet with a case there and portrait orientation is a bit wobbly with bigger devices. You can get around this by getting a small gooseneck tablet holder and just clipping that to the desk surface. The tablet slot also has a small passthrough in the middle for a charging cable that is VERY obviously designed for cellphones or iPads. I also found it useful to use some 3M strips to attach a little 5-port USB hub behind the computer space, to make the whole desk a bit like a dock that I could grab my laptop and mouse off of when travelling and lets me leave most of the accessories behind without worrying about misplacing them. Also lets me do nicer cable management with tie-downs so that each time I sit down (or store the bamboo top) everything is neatly packaged and I just need to plug in a USB 3.0 cable to boot everything up..

Great Product - nothing else comes close.
The lap desk table is a great product, and nothing else I have found comes close to matching it. It's comfortable, flexible, and well-designed. What's even better than the product is the great customer support; they fully stand behind their product and are interested in the customer experience. Sadly, that seems to be increasingly rare nowadays. This product is definitely worth owning.

Arrived with a split down the middle
Like the product design and cooling slots. Comfortable and great size. Customer service, not so much. Why have me return a broken product and wait to ship out a new board until split one is received?? Why not send out a new board immediately?? For the price I expected better service. I order for my 2nd residence, went back and forth with customer service over the issue. Still not resolved, and now I am back at my primary residence, while the product is at my secondary, since I had to go back home after 10 days of trying to have a new board shipped

Surprisingly, the simplest solutions are usually the best! TL:DR - easy to recommend, much better for you and your kit, than a tea tray or laptray + Great simple product + Sturdy, comfy, + Easily holds my 17" MSI laptop, iPad2 and more with space to spare (xbox pad in pics for scale). + Easy to clean and better than any other solution I've had for home working without a desk! - UPS damaged the box during delivery puncturing parts of the box and tray (but no fault of NerdyTec and shows how strong it was to withstand such impacts and still be fine). After struggling to work from home using a tea tray I think this is the best solution for me working from home. Its not a tray that rests on your lap for many hours, and I found this meant I was way more comfy working 9 hours without any issue. The tray is a black hardwood or bamboo type surface, perfectly smooth. It's very tough with no flex, whilst its not heavy it feels solid. The two side cushions that the tray rests on are light, comfy for your arms over long periods and more than strong enough to hold my laptop and items without deforming at all. The tray has a gap for cooling, a slot for a tablet or phone whilst also having pockets for your mouse, charger and other items like phone or even food (for the hungry gamers out there). I had a mouse pocket, a free face mask, a small slat for propping a tablet or phone if its super thin on the table, as well as a digital camouflage pattern on the easy to clean cushions. Also comes with a custom Mouse Mat with 3M peel-able glue back that allows you to tape it to the tray to hold it in place if you like. I''m really pleased and genuinely recommending this for those who have to work from a sofa, a bed or just don't want to have a laptop on your lap for hours a day when this keeps your lap free. The only single downside of this has been UPS. UPS delivered on time but they appear to have bashed or sliced into the box during transit. I found puncture marks through the box and part of my tray was damaged as a result. As its not sharp and not something my arms will come into contact with I am happy to keep the tray as it is. NerdyTec have been great and the product as been really good. Pleased enough with this purchase to actually write this review. Would recommend and would buy again if need be. Pics attached for sizing in case I have forgotten anything important. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
