Neat, low cost solution.
This is a pretty neat bare bones adapter. Turns a NVME SSD into a USB stick. Note that it doesn't have any sort of case or physical protection, so it's not really suitable for day-to-day use. But if you occasionally need to access a NVME or M.2 SATA this is an ideal device to have lying around.

Needs a heatsink - but it works
In the box you get a USB adaptor for M.2 NVMe solid state drives, a silicone thermally-conducting pad, a little screw to hold the SSD in place (as it would have in a computer) and a small cross-headed screwdriver to install said screw.Inserted a 1TB SSD drive, connected it up to my computer, and it worked straight away. A nice blue LED on the adaptor shows that it's alive, and flashes when data transfer is taking place. What I hadn't twigged - and this is probably my naivity - is that the package as sold isn't really complete. Within 5 - 10 minutes of running an SSD drive using this adaptor, the top surface of the silicone pad was too hot to touch, and there's nowhere for that heat to go in its "as supplied" state! So you need a heatsink of some kind; you can buy them on Amazon for a tad over £5, but I'm guessing the lack of a heatsink is why this particular Eluteng product is so cheap. A number of others I considered came with a heatsink, and it's pretty much essential if you're planning to run an SSD for more than a couple of minutes. Of course, you can lash something up if you've got some aluminium or steel with a flat face, and the upper surface of the Eluteng thermal pad is tacky to form a good thermal bond with any heatsink you add.Overall, it feels a bit bargain-basement. Certainly not a bad deal at this price, and it does what it says on the tin, but there are no instructions in the box and the online videos don't mention that a heatsink is desirable or even essential.

Decent. Effective. Job done.
Although is feels kind of delicate, it's a simple and well put together piece of kit. Great for temporary mounts for M.2 for flashing or formatting, or just checking the contents or condition of a drive.Haven't been able to get consistent speed reads from this with any particular drive mount, but never had connection issues. Great useful wee tool for mounting an OS from Etcher or Rufus before installing in a system.Hope this helps.

It actually works, I am very surprised
Well I've learnt you can now do USB-PCIe NVMe. Didn't know that was even a thing. Very good for testing SSDs, especially if you don't trust them to not short your motherboard out or something. For anything but long SSDs you'll need some sticky tape or a finger to hold the drive down. Sure, there's screw holes in it and they even provide you with a screw post... but there's no way to put the screw post in the PCB so it actually holds shorter drives down.

Didn't work for me.
Connects SSD drive for a few seconds then there's a windows usb connection sound and the drive is disconnected followed by a windows pop up saying usb device error. Tried in multiple laptops both Win 10 and 11 and a total of eight different usb ports.

Good value
This works! For a good price. Fast delivery That's all I can say about this. If you need to use your M. Drives in a usb port this is just perfect.
