Stops the draughts
Put this in our kitchen extractor fan vent to stop cold air in the coming in from outside.Read some reviews that people had found this rattling a bit when in the vent hose but haven't found these issues for us. Works well and significant drop in the cold air coming in through especially during windy and cold winter days.Worth the money for a quick DIY fix.

Works fine but needed small modification to prevent it sticking open in my installation
I installed this in a vertical duct above my cooker hood. I was getting cold draughts coming in during the winter and this completely solved that problem.There was one small issue in that when mounted vertically it is possible for the flap to open more than 90 deg, tip past the vertical and then stick in the open position. I added a small screw to prevent it opening more than about 85 deg and this seemed to fix that issue.

might require some elbow grease
I was prepared to have to shave off a little of the ridge around the outside to get this to fit in the duct (after watching a youtube video of someone installing it) but even that didn't do it for me and I ended up having to sand it almost right down - not even sure why it's there to be honest. Will have to go back in and adjust it some more I think because air seems to bounce back in from it in some areas but not others. If you're looking to stop ice cold windy draughts coming in though, it does achieve that. Just beware it may lessen the efficiency of your fan.

its not sheer or has sheerness so on amazons ratings as sheerness is important to know it loses stars.The unit fits well on pipe, does flap a bit in the windy situations but all in all works well
