Awesome value for the money
The printer is easy to use and setup. It has everything I would expect and things worked right out of the box. It's not quite as simple as just tearing off all the tape holding things together like a regular printer but easy if you follow the instructions. It's quick enough for what it does and easily the best value at it's price point. The only thing that would cause me to buy a more expensive version if I could afford it would be print quality. Print quality is totally good with singular colors (although not super color accurate) but if you're going to try to do gradients or multi-shade patterns it won't look as good as a more expensive version.

Great ID Printer
We are a small school district that has just begun using ID cards. We could not invest $1,000's in a camera, printer, cards, etc. for about 130 ID cards. This fit the bill for us. It has been problem-free and worked well for our needs. The cards and ribbons are affordable and the printer is user friendly. The software leaves a little to be desired, but again, for our needs it is just fine.

Printing Badges
I used it for producing event badges for a school Mega Reunion celebration. I had one ink cartridge jam in the machine which wasted a little more than half of the ribbon. This was after one full ribbon cartridge of printing a little over two hundred badges. I have produced over three hundred badges now. And so far, the machine has worked quite well. I need to produce about five hundred more. I feel comfortable that it will complete the project.

Great Printer but Software Expires and Costs $500 to Renew!
The security company we used quoted us $4000 for a HID card printer. After doing some research we found the Fargo DTC1250e printer was made by the same card manufacturer and at a much lower cost. At first we tried printing on our original HID Clamshell blank cards but discovered that this printer is not compatible. After a quick call to tech support they helped us identify a new thinner version of HID ISOPROX cards as the proper upgrade. Once we received the new cards printing on the DTC1250e was no problem and works great with the easy to use BODNO software. The package we purchased included blank cards which helped us practice our new ID designs on. Overall a great package and excellent value.

Changing rating from 1 to 3
UPDATE: Raising from 1 start to 3. I contacted support (vipsupport-at-bodno.com) and received attentive care. I was having network issues, trying to print 2-sided on a one-sided machine. My bad. On the positive side, I put it thru oit's paces and it still works. My plan for handing this task off to the less-techno savvy will not work though. This thing needs attention. But the following remains true: Terrible software interface, Fragile ribbons, I'm getting really good at taping the film back together. Error signaling is weak. Some cards get stuck for no reason. Original review: Terrible software interface, resolution isn't great everything looks hazy. Color ribbon busted after 10 cards..... I didn't have time to set up and test in the return window so I'm stuck with this. Any thoughts on how to salvage? It's very expensive. Complete disconnect between software and printer. Support materials lacking. This is a cry for help.

Buyer Beware
Update Feb. 12: Feb. 10 we received the part as promised without an additional fee. We haven't installed it yet due to the ice storms by us but yes did receive. So will update starts from 2 to 4. I purchased this bundle and have been able to print some basic cards. The print quality is a little dull, not very vibrant. I also contacted support about the bundle silver package I bought for further instructions on the encoding portion and more instructionsor videos as the instructionsare very very poor and limiting. I purchased this package since the description says you can encode the cards and upgraded the software to even have mire options. Upon contacting Jack at Bodno as Joe told me to for further help or video instructions Jack informed me in an email saying that I needed to purchase a $500.00 additional part for encoding. I told him nowhere in the literature does it say anything about needing additional equipment to encode your cards. It actually says the opposite that you can encode the cards. Which is what we based our decision off of for purchasing the equipment for our security ID cards. We have a useless piece of exquipment from this false advertising if that is the case. You can't advertise a claim then say pay an additional 500.00 for a piece of equipment to convert it to encode that you don't even mention. I have all the materials advertising this bundle and it says encodes and no mention of extra parts to do so. Last email was from Jack at Bodno which he asked for my order number which I provided and inquired 2xs about whom never returned my email after I gave him our order number. Update: On 1/25/19 Bodno shared they would me mailing me the necessary magnetic encoder need without cost. Awaiting arrival.

A few glitches, but over all a great product.
Our first time using this product. It had trouble printing at first but after working with one of their tech support staff we realized we had an old version of the system downloaded on our comp, plus our windows needed an update. After these two fixes it worked like a charm! They have awesome technical support. Rey was exceptionally helpful, courteous, and attentive. I was never left on hold, and he seemed to be extremely knowledgeable. Thank you Rey!! 🤍
