Spanish Ham – Jamon Serrano Shoulder Reserve & Ham Holder 4.5 – 5 Kg - Serrano Ham Made with Mediterranean Sea Salt

Great social centre piece accompanied with a good red wine, cheese, & company. Left the fat on and cut thinly from top to bottom. I went for a mediocre cured ham to start with, not only in cost but time cured. Cut thinly and slow to enjoy. If expecting to eat it thick sliced it won't do this justice. Slow cut, and thin is best. Any fat left we rendered down to use. Bone left in a stock pot. The hoof is to be used as part of a walking stick. Nothing wasted. Good value. Good taste. Good experience. Don't take all the fat off and destroy the ham before cutting. Cut small and thin, serve others and enjoy.

I bought this ham leg for hubby as a Christmas present because he's always wanted one and he loved it! They said it would come in 10 days but it came within 4! It was very well packed and included a stand to build to hold the ham and a knife for cutting too. The stand is very sturdy and holds it perfectly. The ham was vaccum packed and came with a cover too which is really great. The knife was okay - we use our own carving knife as it's easier for us. The meat is absolutely delicious though! We've had it for two months now and still have half of it left over...when friends come over we also cut a massive plate full for them and they love it too. It also looks really stunning in the kitchen and it's easy to take care of at home. Thumbs up from us!

The ham is good quality and the knife supplied is flexible, perfect for the job. The stand was a letdown. The base was warped and the neck screw could not hold the trotter in place. I had to make a small modification to insert a bracket into the neck to support the opposite side from the screw. However, the whole package was a great addition to our party and enjoyed by all. The ham is delicious but the stand provided cones with no instructions and cheap materials. The Allen key broke immediately, the screws lost their thread, the holes in the wood weren’t straight. Impossible to make the stand strong enough for the job! Please send replacement stand!

Loads of meat on this one, needs some careful preparation as they all do. Remove the yellow fat and any dark spots first but only from the section you want to eat that day. I think some people complaining have got the outer layers which will taste off. Great value for money. Make sure to get the ham the right way round on the stand and just take your time. Stand and knife are fine and up to the task.

The meat was delivered quickly and tastes ok, much moister than I expected from air cured meat. The main issue is the stand was not well produced. The bracket to hold the meat at the bottom was not milled correctly and I have had to glue it in place. I had to drill out the holes to mount the upper part of the holder and it still isn’t quite right. The screw that should hold the hoof/bone in place was so badly made it would not go through the pre drilled hole (I can’t drill it out otherwise the threads won’t bite and hold the thing in place) even after I ground off the worst of it. Meat seems ok. Rest of it is trash. I will update as to how the meat lasts. Based on the above I am not super optimistic.

The first time that we have ordered a full 'ham' like this and we were unsure what to expect. We were very impressed with the presentation; well packaged, with a sturdy wooden stand, rope for hanging and slim flexble knife for carving (this was a gift for the father inlaw). It looked great and really made a spectacular centrepiece to the event we planned. The ham carves well and tastes great, at least as good as the vast majority of jamon that we enjoy around Southern Spain,. Its flavourful and with a good colour. For a gift, a party or just because you can't get enough ham we really recommend this product. UPDATE: We've had the ham open for about two weeks and its stored in a cool dry place - it continues to eat as well as the first time we carved it. Eeryone who comes to the house tries it and loves it. The ham brings a bit of theatre to the table.

What a fantastic product!! Great price and great service. I bought this for my wife's birthday party. The ham arrived a few days earlier than expected (which was a bonus) and my wife loved it!!! She cut shavings off it all week leading up to her party and then, on the day, everyone had a go at cutting their own pieces.. The meat tasted lovely and everyone enjoyed the novelty of hunk of ham. The ham was more than big enough to keep 20 people going back for more. There was even plenty left over. I would have no problem recommending this product and the supplier. The ham arrived with 5 days (although I was expecting it in 7) and was beautifully wrapped. The accompanying stand was a little fiddly to put together but, once put together, held the ham securely.
