Good product
Excellent compliment to your Makita Miter Saw (or any brand saw.) I have the DeWalt version of this saw stand which is very good too. I like this Makita better because it is heavier duty, has wheels, has two carrying handles, there are elevated hard rubber feet on the brackets to set your saw on when not on the stand, the lock down mechanisms for attaching the saw to the stand are very robust and tight yet easy on and off, and also, one foot on the stand has an adjustment for non level surfaces. All in all this is a well executed saw stand. The narrow wheel base was not designed to transport or store the saw while attached to the stand; regardless however, it is a simple fix, just widen the wheel base with a 2' section of aluminum and add larger wheels (see the attached picture of the modification.) It is totally transportable and way more versatile now. I would not even attempt to adapt my similar DeWalt stand to do this because the DeWalt saw lockdown mechanism is nowhere near as robust as the Makita.

Good miter saw stand
I'm not a professional but I like using contractor grade tools and equipment for their durability vs. consumer grade products. Because I do my own woodworking/construction/repair/demolition at my own house these tools are rarely transported to job sites but maybe occasionally taken to friend's houses to help so portability for this miter saw stand isn't an issue for me. It's will stay in my garage for the most part. The complaints from other buyers were the narrow wheelbase for mobility (not an issue for my purposes), not being able to roll the stand with the saw mounted on top (also not an issue for me), the adjustable fourth foot (not a problem for me at all, in fact I think it makes more sense to have this feature. I've seen ladders with adjustable legs for use on uneven surfaces), the position of one of the cam lock levers (not a big deal to me), and QC. I did have a problem with QC because three out of the four nuts that secure the long bolts to the mounting bracket weren't thoroughly tapped. I think it would have taken a 5/16" - 20 fine thread tap, which I didn't have, but I was able to wrench the bolt through without damaging the nut. If you plan to take your miter saw to a job site keep in mind that the wheelbase width is narrow and not well suited for rolling over uneven ground as some owners pointed out. On uneven ground you may as well carry it. The instruction manual is what I would call an "IKEA picture" manual, meaning very little written instructions, mostly diagrams for assembly, however, the instructions clearly says to remove the saw when transporting the stand. What I like about the stand is the construction. The legs lock securely into place. My saw feels solid on it. You have a roller on one extension and an extension with adjustable stop on the other side with over 8' of extension support. The bolts that secure your saw to their mounts uses a 13 mm head bolt. A 13 mm socket wrench is supplied and sticks securely in a rubber grommet on one side of the saw (See picture #3) so it's always handy. My old Makita miter saw model wasn't listed on the list of compatible models (LS1011), but it mounted fine.

Makita is top chedda!
Idk what people are complaining about. This thing is sturdy, well built, well engineered as usual by Makita. Sure the wheels are kinda lame but the manual says don’t transport the unit with the saw attached so the wheels will easily handle transport through dirt and such, see photo of manual. The saw comes off easily as the brackets should stay attached to the saw and not taken off each time. Incredible people can’t figure this out. Anyway, Makita rules, festool drools. The directions to put the stand together are easy to follow.

This will work with other brand saws
This saw stand is sturdy and the extension work smoothly and tight without sag. The best of all the stand works will all saws, I know Mikita only mentions working with their saws, but it works with other brands in fact I had purchased the Dewalt Comparable stand which stated it was universal to other brands only to find out it would even come close to mounting my Craftsman saw. I researched all over the internet to find one saw stand that would work with a Craftsman Saw, but didn’t care to much for that brand and it’s features. As far as trying to roll the saw around attached to the stand I would say it’s not recommended due to the narrow wheel track have no real stability. But if you want to make it a one piece mobile unit you can replace the wheels and spread the track width so that it will be much more stable when leaving the saw attached. You can find out how to do this modification to the Mikita stand on YouTube. This is a great stand I definitely prefer it over Dewalts the only thing that could be a little better maybe the use of levers to release the legs instead of the buttons.

I never write reviews, I was so impressed with this bit of kit I felt I really had to. Super easy to put together and very sturdy. I have a lot of makita kit but I am so chuffed with this addition. I wish I’d bought one years ago

Good and solid. It is much better than trying to find a level spot for your saw and using 2X4 cutoffs to build up support for long pieces.

Tout simplement génial. Support très stabl, la scie est bien calée dessus. Il se plie pour se ranger facilement. Il est muni de roulettes pour le déplacement. Les extensions sur les côtés permettent de couper de grande longueur en toute sécurité.
