Amazing monitor.
Only had this for a day but I think its okay to review a monitor in such a short period of time. Firstly the build quality is AMAZING even for Samsung. Feels solid and heavy, the stand is INCREDIBLE, feels extremely solid and has movement for anything you would need. The monitor stand itself has a headphone hanger and makes the monitor look like its hanging on the wall which usually only comes with the ~400 pound monitors. The packaging was great and the assembly felt like an experience and not a hassle. Secondly the display is great. Whites are really white and blacks are as black as night. It has 3 presets that you can customize and change thru them in a second on the on-monitor buttons which is great if you play different games and preffer different settings. The 144hz feels great, the monitor is extremely bright if you want it to be that and is really contrastic it is and I like that. And the curve just makes it look really big it feels way bigger than my last 24 inch monitor and I do not know why but I love it! In general a great monitor. 10/10 would recommend.

Gorgeous !
Having previously used an Asus ROG Swift PG279Q, This has a better picture and the PG279Q is already a brilliant monitor. Colours on this really POP, Everything is so vibrant, The HDR feature is really nice too in games that support HDR, Gives them a whole other look, Mix in the 144Hz, Freesync i.e Adaptive Sync, And Quantum Dot tech with the brilliant contrast of VA panels and this is one awesome monitor, Gives games a whole new lease of life. If you are an AMD user you need this or if you simply want a panel that has a brilliant picture you will not be disappointed and high refresh rate, Brilliant piece of tech as well as visually pleasing with it's ergonomic aesthetic. The only current downside I could find to this monitor is the Freesync range, AMD Radeon settings report it as 72Hz to 144Hz, Not bad though, Just adjust your games accordingly, This is apparently getting lowered to 48Hz in an upcoming Firmware update which you can get from Samsungs site and then update it yourself through one of the USB ports at the back, Simply stick the updated Firmware on a FAT32 formatted stick and follow the PDF instructions on the site. If I had to buy a new monitor again, It would definitely be this one, Very highly recommended.

Less than two years it developed a fault - Samsung warranty is frustratingly bad
When it was working it was a good monitor, what you would want to play a fast paced competitive game like CSGO. Colours were decent and the 144hz helped spot things quicker. Nearing the two year mark though and it has developed a fault where each morning horizontal lines start rising up from the bottom of the screen. This calms down as the monitor warms up (though it gets worse each time, both in the amount of screen impacted and how long it lasts for). Samsung warranty is terrible in sorting issues of this kind, I've sent this monitor off once, have been told the issue has been fixed and found the problem still persisting (actually worse then when it was sent!). This process takes about 2 weeks. Samsung have been clear they will not replace the unit until at least the 4th repair cycle. That is potentially 8 weeks without a monitor, dealing with call centres, delivery people, packing the monitor each time etc. Looking at the reviews I see another person had the same issue so it is not a one off - there is an actual issue with this pannel/model of monitor. I would recommend you avoid this headache and look at other models and/or manufacturers.

Brilliant monitor but poor quality control
This monitor is fantastic for both gaming and watching movies/tv shows. The Quantum Dot technology helps to produce an incredibly vibrant display, and the response time combined with the low input lag is quick enough for fast paced shooters. I came from the ASUS VG24QE, to the C27HG70 (The 1080p non-HDR version of this monitor) and then to this, which is a substantial upgrade. 1440p + 144hz is the sweetspot right now for gaming on a 27" display. (32" 1440p is the same PPI as 24" 1080p whereas 27" gives a sharper image) The rated 1ms response time only reduces the motion blur, not the actual response time of the display which also locks the brightness. I just leave the response time on standard, the rate is low enough for me to play games such as CSGO, COD and BF without any issues. The HDR capability works well in the games i have tried (BF1, SWBF2, Destiny 2) The colours appear to be less intense at first compared to when the feature is turned off, but the image is much more accurate and true to life. BF1 and Destiny look stunning. I would have given this 5 stars but there are a few issues I have had to deal with. -I returned the first monitor as it has severe bleeding which made it unwatchable for content with dark backgrounds, the second display i had to RMA because the screen would output the image with horizontal fuzzy/blurry lines. The display i am using now has some glow/bleed but it not really noticeable if i am sitting directly in front of it. I believe this may be an issue with most IPS and VA panels. - The stand forces the display to come out much further than every other monitor I have had. So much so that i have had to move my desk a few inches away from the wall so there is a big gap between the wall and the back of my desk. I have no idea why they couldn't just use similar stands to what companies such as ASUS and BenQ use for their gaming monitors. Overall, I am very pleased with this display. It looks very modern and the curvature adds a nice aesthetic feature. 1440p, 144hz, QD make it one of the best monitors for gaming you can currently buy. If Samsung could fix the manufacturing defects, backlight bleeding and the stand with a revision or upgrade, it would be 5 stars all round.

Almost amazing -updated 2021
Good value monitor with wider than average colour range and decent accuracy. Chosen based on being cheaper than most professional graphic design/ photography monitors and also allowing for HDR gaming. Dark areas are good on full screen images but where the screen is mostly black, the backlighting shortfalls are evident. Wish had gone for 27inch version as can clearly see pixels on 32inch but larger monitor was £40 cheaper when I ordered. HDR perfectly useable and conveys the effect almost as well as a TV [2021 update- whilst in terms of colour gamut, this holds true, current TVs do highlights and contrast far better- this monitor is closer to SDR in terms of contrast and black uniformity is terrible]. Added speed and stability outclasses a TV for gaming. However viewing angles not great. Monitor good for watching movies but only if you like to watch movies alone as colours washed out from anything other than center. Good for Photoshop and can access 10bit colour for Adobe RGB format illustration. Higher pixel density and better viewing angles would make this monitor amazing.

Great for gaming, but questionable display?
After receiving the monitor i was pleasantly surprised by the image quality, and being a VA panel it was vivid and comparible to my Dell IPS. Playing games was a joyful experience with a few tweaks required to minimise motion blur and ghosting as best as i can. The settings i went for are: Response Time= Standard (the faster settings seemed to exhibit overshoot) FreeSync= Ultimate Engine (now accessible with Nvidia cards) Brightness= depending on the room you are in, but i dropped it to about 70 When comparing it side by side to other high refresh rate monitors, it doesnt feel as snappy (when compared to the XG2402) however take this with a grain of salt. When i took it out of the box it was very fast and was very happy with the 144hz performance, it did not occur to me that "oh, this is not very responsive" -- i think this is definately suitable for casual and even competitive shooters. Now you may wonder why i left only 3 stars.. it is simply the text. When viewing any sort of text on this monitor, whether it be on a web page, the ui, in a game.. the text is a no go for me. I think for some people it will be fine. But i felt the text looked as though it was blurry, but upon closer inspection i believe it is to do with the VA panel as you can see missing pixels within the text. Like i said, this may only bother some people- but it was enough for me to return the monitor to prevent headaches. Another bad point is the stand, i wont go into too much detail but it was too large. The footprint took up half of my desk, and it brings the display closer to your seating position. A bit too close for me, but this can be fixed by mounting it to a vesa arm. In conclusion, if you can look past the the quirky text and the huge stand- it is a pleasant monitor to use when gaming and consuming video content.

Great monitor if you can get it on sale
So, I upgraded to this 24in CFG73 from a 60hz TV on HDMI cable. Wow, Ive been so impressed. Just so sharp, smooth, colourful. But! A few things to know: 1- like many comments, my box was also opened but it seems to have been opened by Samsung themselves. This can happen when a product goes out with faulty firmware and gets recalled before going on sale. Working in IT it happens more often than you'd think with hardware. If any items look dirty or scuffed, take it back to Amazon or just haggle for money off. 2- this is a VA screen and clouding and VA glow is what is seen on these images of when the screen is purely black. Basically, this is just how VA works and if you snag this monitor sub 200, you don't have to worry about it! If your eyes are that sensitive, I'm sorry to say that you're buying in the wrong price bracket or going for the wrong technology for what you want. Try googling IPS and VA and TP and get a good idea of what you want. 3- the calibration is all off on the factory settings, imho. I suggest Colours around R20 G35 B50, black control at 20, brightness35, contrast around 50 and sharpness around 60 to get the best 'wow' out of this monitor. Each monitor is different you your milage will vary. You can save that profile on one of the quick buttons and see what you think. 4- this is my 1st curved monitor. it's curved but not drastically. You will barely notice if you are thinking about trying it out. And yet... I just love it. It feels more immersive, more than I had thought. For £170 that I paid for this, I am just so chuffed. The 65 inch telly doesn't get used much anymore. I can't mention gaming yet as my PC is still being built.

Best monitor for Xbox one X gaming
I bought this monitor to replace my 5 year old previous Samsung tv/monitor so arguably the jump in quality will be big for me. I think if you compared this to top of the range OLED TVs our there then it won’t seem that great. But when you take it for its merits it’s an absolutely brilliant monitor. I bought it for both Xbox one X gaming and when I work from home on PC. You can set up three hot swappable button/modes so I have one set up for Xbox with max settings enabled, and one set up for PC for good on your eyes, eco, best colours ect ect. I must also point out that currently this is the best monitor to use your Xbox one X on to get the absolute best gaming experience. It works almost plug and play with Xbox one X when you mess around with the Xbox side settings, you will then be able to play at 120Hz 1440p gaming. Which is quite mad for consoles. Arguably the monitor can do 144hz if you switch it to 1080p. All in all, this monitor is just the best setup for somebody who wants both PC for work and the casual game on console. It has 2x 2.1HDMI ports, and 1x DisplayPort which I use for the PC. The monitor will turn on and off when you switch off the console or PC and there is no other input on. If there it one on it will automatically switch to that input. I literally never have to touch the monitor for anything it always knows what to do, since I only ever have 1 system in at once. The other HDMI I use for regular PS4 which also looks great on this monitor. It looks great when on a floating stand too!

Buen monitor calidad/precio
Buen monitor.
