My previous smoke alarm kept going off for no reason, very annoying! This one seems great, nice small size and easy to install

For the price so the best I have perched.

A necessary buy so no excitement just glad it was easy to fit and works.

Bought these to replace Two of our Smoke detectors which broke down way past their sell by dates. These came with batteries and have a mute button if you burn the toast. I attached them with Velcro to the ceilings same as the originals.

Bought four of these after intermittent bleeping from one of my old alarms, put several new batteries in it and when it had no battery it seemed to stop, proving to me that this alarm had failed. So I decided to replace all the old alarms with four of these. They came same day with Amazon Prime,, over £20, very impressed. Easy to put up with removable back plate and put it on the wall. Worked OK with Test button, but does this just prove it has power? I’m never sure, so I carefully tested it with smoke from a candle. After it’s blown out provides most smoke, no reaction from the alarm so I .used two candles then to make more smoke but no reaction. Tested the other three in the same way, same result. So all four could not have been faulty, probably nothing wrong with them, and good that they are not that easy to set off, but didn’t feel happy with them and still had some doubt. I would rather have a false alarm than no alarm when it is badly needed. I returned them all to Amazon. The bleeping turned out to be from my carbon monoxide detector with it’s non replaceable battery, not the smoke alarms at all. So I ordered another Status monoxide detector and a Status smoke alarm, which came the next day, being under £20 it didn’t qualify for same day delivery. This smoke alarm passed the two candle smoke test so I was happy with it. Don’t think the insurance company would be very pleased if you burnt your house down testing a smoke detector, so be careful.
