Kutani porcelain dates back 350 years. The first kilm to make coloured porcelain was established in the Kutani village in Japan, making Kutani a historic location. Kutani porcelain is famous for its bold traditional motifs and vivid colours. The five hues of Kutani, include deep blue, purple, yellow, green, and red. The pieces usually feature natural depictions, such as flowers or birds and encapsulate the way of life in traditional Japanese society. Excellent to add to any collection of unique dishes for home decor, these plates can also serve in a variety of ways; such as for dipping or serving breakfast toast and sandwiches.
