Good value, reliable, cat-proof
I have used this for over a year now and this feeder is reliable and a great value. I use it for my cat and you can set many options such as how many times a day to dispense food and how much food to dispense. It plays a high pitched beep when it dispenses to let your pet know its meal time if they are somewhere else or sleeping. It comes with a dessicant packet that attaches to the lid to keep food fresh and sturdy velcro strap to prevent food motivated pets from knocking it over for a free meal. My cat LOVES his food and would do anything possible to break into it but he has not been able to so far even when away from home for longer periods of time, so rest easy if you have a little bandit. The setup and button navigation isn't very intuitive and takes some time to figure out how to set everything properly but once you've got it, its not something you need to continue to fuss over. One other thing I have noticed is that the first time the feeder goes off after refilling it up with more food from empty it may not dispense the full portion because of the way the paddles inside rotate. Keep an eye on that and make sure Fluffy doesnt get shorted. After the first time it will dispense normally.

Simple and effective, fully self sufficient
A few years ago I made the mistake of buying half a dozen 'smart' pet feeders for my cats. A month after investing close to a thousand dollars, that other company went belly up. Those feeders *required* internet connection not just for programming, but to work at all. With company cloud servers gone - the most valuable part of that purchase was the boxes my cats played in. So this time - I wanted something that could work entirely off grid. I converted a bed room in my home to a cat room, subdivided into suites for each of my cats (currently 11 indoor!) with private bed, scratcher, toys and feeder - with access controlled by microchip. My PitPet feeders are a crucial part of that set up. I can control each cats diet. With up to six separate portion controlled meals, I minimize prevent scarf and barf. With each feeder calling its cat by name at meal time it creates a fun symphony of sounds at meal town as cats are called, come running, food drops, and doors click open. Bigger cats get bigger portions, everybody gets the best food for their personal health conditions and I can even leave home for a few days without having to worry. Setup is simple on these devices. In almost 18 months of use I've had zero issue with reliability. The only heads up: if you have a particularly ambitious feline, the security strap may not be sufficient. One of my boys was able to flip the feeder and pull off the velcro for a feast. I've constructed a barrier wedging feeder in place to prevent that, and all of the other cats have been fine with it free standing as shipped. The internal clock is reliable. While it certainly is not able to sync with atomic clock it perfectly does its job. A 'drift' of maybe a minute over the course of several full months really is negligible. Between power adapter and AA battery backup, power outages aren't a concern, and the removable steel bowl and food reservoir make for easy cleaning. All said and done - this is a very solid product at an incredible price. Thrilled I found it, as are my cats. If you want bells and whistles and dependance on someone else paying their bills - get an expensive soon to be brick. If you want reliability and consistency, this is it. Doing some improvements with my cat suites, but since my youngest kittens are demanding SnapCat and OnlyPaws fame - I'll be uploading video and photos of this setup (and them) soon @kenskrewe You'll get a kick out of how they come running when PitPet calls!

Good for 2 years with proper maintenance
Bought this for our pug for meal time consistency. We purchased this in 2024, but crapped out on us this week. I hand washed the removable parts carefully and thoroughly, but it wasnโt dispensing the proper portions that it used to. It did us well for 2 years. Going forward with a different brand. Other than that, it was reliable. Plugged in or batteries, it did the job. Assembly was simple. It was easy for our dog to eat out of (especially with a pug face). Itโs fairly easy to clean. I loved the box look against the wall.

Useful
I got this for my cat a while ago and it still works great. I am able to go on vacation and know that my cat is getting fed the right amount because he will eat everything at once. You can change the amount of food as well as the timing of food. You can change the frequency as well. Itโs easy to refill and once you set it up you donโt really have to do much to keep up with it. I also added a voice message for my cat so he can hear me call out for him when food is ready.

AutoFeed
Ive had this for a little over a year and it has not failed me since. It gives out a good portion that you yourself can program, and its appearance is almost completely the same as when i first took it out of the box. I recommend wiping everything down at least once a month to keep everything running good and not build any harmful bacteria up for your animals to eat. my only recommendation from this is DO NOT RELY ON IT. If the power goes out, your animals will not be fed.

Perfect cat feeder!
I am both an extremely forgetful person and keep an irregular schedule on weekends; being in the vet field I know the importance of keeping pets on a schedule, so when I got my first cat I knew that as soon as he was eased out of wet food I wanted to get him an automatic feeder. Found this after looking for an affordable option with good reviews and have loved it so much that I bought a second one within the week of bringing my second cat home- I've also gone out of town both overnight and for a week and never had to worry about them getting their meals. The instructions are a little confusing to set up in terms of portions, so just fyi each portion is roughly 1/8th of a cup depending on the size of the kibble. Highly recommend putting the included velcro strap on the lid when setting up and securing it if your cats are extremely food motivated, bc if they knock it over hard the lid will pop out; also, having batteries in bc it will do a full reset if unplugged, and I wish you could peel the top sticker off, but other than those little quibbles I highly recommend this for all cat parents, as portion control and routine is the most important part of keeping cats at healthy weight!

Worked great for a while
I've had this product for a little over a year now. It worked pretty well for the first 6 or 7 months but I'm going to have to replace it soon. Here's my honest review. Good: It was easy to set up. Battery life is excellent. I can go 2-3 months before having to change batteries, with no power plugged in. Because of this, you're not limited to keeping it near an outlet or having to worry about a power outage. It was very good at keeping the schedule I had it set for and dispensing the portion size set (for a while anyway), so it worked well to get my chunky kitty back to a healthier weight. Not so great: Sometimes it's difficult to get the lid to fit well. The Velcro strap to keep the top locked down doesn't stick well. Thankfully my kitty never tried to break in, because I'm sure he could have. After about six months, when food levels got below about halfway full, it wouldn't always dispense the full portion size. A couple of months after that, it kept spitting out the rubber piece at the bottom of the food hopper that turns. It kept coming out into the food bowl. When it came time to dispense food, it would drop only a few pieces or none at all.

Reliable Automatic feeder
Works well. The feeding tray is removable for washing. Easy to program and allows you to record a message that goes off right before the food is dispensed. For example I recorded "Kitty, Kitty, Kitty" because that's how I call her before I feed her. It runs by electricity but also uses batteries in case the electricity goes off.

Not happy with this product.
The feeder keeps increasing the amount of food per serving. eg. I have each serving set at 1 but it dispenses 1 1/2 servings. I've tried resetting it but it's still doing it.
