Heart-warming Pixar animated tale about a robot who accidentally discovers the way to save planet Earth. 700 years after humanity has left Earth, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) fills his days collecting rubbish, and anything else that takes his fancy, trying to fend off the boredom of his lot. But unknowingly, the tiny tube-eyed robot has discovered a secret that could make the once beautiful planet habitable again, enabling humankind to return. One day, Eve, a search robot, lands on Earth in a cloud of dust, and WALL-E is smitten. When she realises the importance of his find, she sets out to tell the remaining humans, eager to let them know the planet can be saved. not typical but clever little movie
Didn't know what to expect with this. Its not a typical movie, but has quite a lot of quirky humour, plus interesting social commentary in the story such as environmental issues, social media and convenience culture. My kids enjoy it, full of funny quirky robot characters. I thought the movie was going to be based all on earth but the majority is on a space station with the remainder of the human race on it who had abandoned earth 700 years earlier due to wrecking the earth with trash. I think it can also be a useful tool if you are teaching or doing youth work and want to address the issues raised in a visual story based form. I think the music was a good use of Thomas Newtons style (pay it forward) created a dreamy, almost magical feel to parts of the movie.

Instead of a video game for toddlers. To see robots and start interest in them. Should be some useful comments about good habits.

Genuinely entertaining - touching and dramatic.
I saw this delightful film many years ago and loved it, so I was eager to see it again. I wasn't disappointed! The story line is of course totally fanciful but the way it is told is delightful, with clever visual effects and an engrossing unfolding of the story line - complete with a happy ending. Frankly I'm surprised this film is not up there in the ratings along with better known classics. I now look forward to watching it again - and again!
