Have fun actually trying to watch your 4k bluray from disk
The bluray player itself is ok, upto 100gb which is necessary for 4k disks. The Rip speed is in a good spot for the price of the device. I have not used the burn feature. I couldn't actually watch my bluray from disk after spending 3-4 hours jumping through hoops for no reason. Couldn't watch my bluray from disk, had to rip to file in order to watch it which is ridiculous, the bluray industry needs to get its act together and provide the necessary codecs or whatever is needed to JUST PLAY MY DISK FROM VLC PLAYER. No free options work, powerdvd only works on old gen CPUs because it requires intel SGX which only works on UEFI bios and most operating systems are installed in legacy by default and intel SGX is not included in newer CPUs because im guessing they want out of this bluray industry farce. (i dont blame them) I am not going to pay 3 times over just to play a disk that i literally OWN.

Newer Computers don't have CD disk drives so you have to use this external drive to copy and store data. Works great but takes up space. However it's portable so you just hook it up and use it when you need it.

It does a great job of burning DVDs and it is a nice convenience to have those extra USB ports on the side of it.

I have heard of people who buy bluray drives thinking they can play movies. Well I discovered that is not as easy when it comes to commercially encrypted ones. I got mine working with VLC on standard bluray disc's using a W7 pc because I can. Titles such as Aliens with BD+ encryption require alot of extra lies if they actually work. It is suggested that you use Powerdvd. That is an option, but that is not compatible with all OS variants anymore. For me it is the DVD for the easiest most acceptable media for the win. Even for use on Windows 95 if you like. Aside from "Big Movie Mafia" being control freaks, the player works pretty good. If the drive dies I might put a new one inside it, or even a ssd.

Arived promptly, looks nice and slim, however it plays at average 2 out of 10 standard DVD movie disks which otherwise my book shelve dvd player plays withowt an issue. I tried even a few brand new that I just bought. In the same manner it plays 1 out of 3 music CDs. It did not even recognized a blank RW disk...
