I was expecting, you know, a regular size external hard drive. But this one is about the size of two thumb drives side-by-side! It's so tiny and cute!On a serious note, it runs as expected. I was hoping to put decals on it as part of the gift but it was two small. I even measured with a Seagate drive we have. But I was slightly disappointed that it was so tiny. I was only able to fit two decals. One on each side. Honestly the size is probably better anyway. Takes up less space while in-use, and it makes it easier to store. I wish there was an option to have the full size, but I can overlook that.

I had a WD back up HD for my iMac that was used for my automatic time machine back ups. It crapped out after 3 years. Found this product here on Amazon. Price point was cheaper than expected. It arrived same day as ordered, and it really was plug and play. Simple change of time machine setting to the new drive, and I'm back having back ups again. Only one cord to the iMac, no additional power cord. Great price for exactly what I needed.

Debo acotar que no suelo usarlo ni mantenerlo conectado y que sigo el protocolo correcto para desconectarlo, así que me dio un susto innecesario. The USB C connector is a great benefit of the Seagate Ultra Touch HDD 5TB. Most portable drives like this use a USB Micro B connector on the drive. The USB Micro B connector has a long history of early failures due to a design which is not very strong and a wide profile that allows the user to apply a force with leverage that over time breaks wires in the connector. For some reason, typical reviewers of portable HDDs focus on cost only and ignore this problem with USB Micro B connectors. For Windows users, save yourself some future trouble and format as NTFS. The NTFS format allows some file types that the default exFAT format cannot handle. When you back up a large collection of files, there is a good chance that there are one or more files that exFAT does not handle.

I am furious. I chose this product because of the recognizable brand name and the fact that it would automatically back up. I was attempting to use this on an at home, HP laptop. Well, set up was easy enough. Able to download and access the "Toolkit" program software. Started my first back up. The status window 1st said 8 hours to back up, hmmm, then I kept checking and the status would change then to 24 hrs, 32 hrs to finally 35 hrs to back up. That's weird. I felt the device with my hand. It was HOT to the touch after having been attempting to work for about an hour. I aborted the back up, re-read other customer reviews. No way was I going to leave a HOT device plugged in for almost 2 days. What a complete and utter disappointment. Absolutely ridiculous that in 2023 you can't buy a quick, easy and reliable automatic back up device without all this effort. Now gotta' pack it up, bring it to the return shipping center and THEN shop for another back up because, gosh I REALLY need a back up device. What a waste of time and effort.

This hard drive is amazing. The usb c to usb c feature is also very cool. It allows for much faster transfers and is super convenient. Runs almost silently. Has a small form factor. Functions as advertised.

The documentation isn't great but it only took an hour to figure out how to get it to work. Transferring 490 GB took many hours (USB is extremely slow) but both mirror and backup seem to work well.My biggest problem was setting up the disk's password. I set it up w/o proper documentation and, now that it's set up, I can't figure out how to turn it off. Should my computer fail that could leave me locked out of my backup, if I understand how this unit works. Again... sucky explanations.
