Smart, Reliable, and Easy to Control from Anywhere
This WiFi water timer has made my yard watering routine so much easier. The setup was simple through the app, and the Bluetooth/WiFi connection has been very stable. I like that I can control the watering schedule directly from my phone — even when I’m away from home — and the manual override button works instantly when needed. The brass inlet feels solid and durable, and it connects tightly without leaking. The app interface is clean, and programming multiple zones was surprisingly intuitive. Overall, it’s a great upgrade from a basic timer — accurate, well-built, and perfect for keeping the lawn and garden healthy with minimal effort.

Follow up - amazing support
I recently contacted Support to see what was going on with the wifi controller. They sent me a timely response with clear instructions. I followed them carefully but could not get the controller to work. In the meantime support would email me for follow up. They have an incredible support staff. They recognized the controller would need to be replaced and have prepared to ship another out to me. I am impressed by Rainpoint’s support network! The RainPoint Bluetooth Smart Irrigation Timer+ Bluetooth gateway was delivered as expected. The instructions were very well written as I followed them almost to the T. My setup time was no more than 20 min and that was with the suggested system software upgrades to both the Timer and Gateway. Once connected, the phone app is fairly intuitive. I immediately tested the manual setting and watched the timer on the phone count down and then I set up the time for what days of the week I wanted watering and for how long. The timer today went off as expected for the amount of time I set up on the app. So far this product works for me. I like that you can review your watering history in the app. Nice feature.. great for when you are away from home and need to possibly change your water frequency but didn't remember what you had it set on. There is a rain delay function as well. All of this is displayed on the app. including the current weather forecast! There is one item that would be nice to change and that is the reddish/pink light on the gateway. I was a bit confused in the beginning thinking I didn't have it connected correctly due to the color. It would be nice to have it a low luminous green (thinking I am good to go). Also the gateway needs to be within 100 ft (if I remember right) ... plugged indoors. This does not affect me as my timer is approx 30-40 feet away from the gateway. Also, it looks like it can be connected to Alexa... I only gave that a few min of my time as I know some apps take a blessing from higher ups to get to work with Alexa and I did not have the time at the moment to do it. The other interesting feature which I would want to find out more is that you can add additional devices. I am not sure if this means you can add more timers/gateways and use one app to control all of them. Which means you can build a somewhat sophisticated watering system. I failed to mention the construction of the devices. They look very well made. If you register your product, you can get up to 5 years of warranty coverage.

Best garden hose timer I've ever used?
I've used many manual and electronic timers to control my garden irrigation over the years. They never last and are cumbersome to use/set up. I've been using this one for over a year and a half, and have absolutely no complaints. The batteries last A LONG TIME. I've replaced them one time since it's been in service, and it was just a preventative measure. My timer is programmed to activate for 1hr every day. The timer was still working fine. There are no leaks and it works EVERY TIME. The app is intuitive and easy to set up. I highly recommend this timer.

Good customer service. A bit hard to connect to Alexa.
Edited update: I'm raising it by a star because I was really pleased with customer service. They were easy to reach by both email and phone. I sent a video and they tried to troubleshoot with me, it didn't work out right away but they did not give me much of a hassle to send a replacement. I still don't know why my unit was leaking, it was out of the side slot, not where it connects to the faucet. I had to threat the faulty one but I got the new one almost immediately. In the beginning, I still had a little difficulty with a leak but then I realized that was my issue because I had the hose splitter making it at a slight angle. This thing will only work without leaks if it is completely perpendicular in line with the horizon (even if you use the teflon tape, it will still leak). Once I installed it straight out of the tap and not coming off the angled splitter, the leak went entirely away (this was a different type of leak than the original problem, which had nothing to do with me… There was some crack in the unit I think). It's been pretty hasslefree since then and I appreciate the customer service help. I think they're a good and reliable company. I wish I could have given this product five stars. It really works well for a simple uses through the app directly, connects fast through the gateway. There are two small problems, one is that the joints are extremely leaky... That one isn't too difficult to fix with some plumbers tape, but you do have to take care of that yourself. I wish that they would make some better gaskets for these things. Until I get more plumber's tape, I have to keep a watering can under it to catch the leak. Two, It's almost false advertising that it is easily Alexa compatible. I have over 50 smart devices in my home and most of the Alexa compatible ones have a simple signin button to link the accounts together within the app, And then all you have to do is create the skill on the Alexa app and then program your own voice commands. Not this, oo boy. It took me around the world and had me wanting to pull my hair out. First off, the instructions are TERRIBLE. It made it sound very simple but it took me 15 minutes just to realize that those instructions were just on how to set up your echo device. Why would they even waste space on that when they are a third-party app that has nothing to do with Amazon?? Most people who bought this for Alexa Compatibility already know how to set that up and have it done. I went back-and-forth between that app and the RainPoint one trying to figure out what I need to do after that and there was no clear answer. There is no RainPoint skill within Alexa, I tried connecting through Tuya's app (the parent company, I believe), and it would not find the water sprinkler controller. It was only after I read the reviews, I saw many people were struggling with connecting to Alexa but one person managed to do it and that was by disconnecting the gateway (Which I had forgotten was connected to the controller) and reconnecting both that and the "child device" to Tuya. That is the trick that did it: if you are looking for Alexa compatibility, you must connect Tuya to the Alexa app, not Rainpoint, which has no support. Tuya has a skill there and you can then create voice routines, etc. Through Tuya's app, the interface for the sprinkler controller is the same, and you can control your timers, schedulers, weather delays, etc. It all works well once you get it set up, but I'm just frustrated that they could've prevented a lot of time wasting by just explaining that in simple English (that you must use the Tuya app instead) OR update Rainpoint so it is a skill available on Amazon and truly compatible. That's the main issue that has this review at 4 stars. It's a pity because the other electronic functions of the device work well! I love that you can see the weather forecast right in the app and program rain delays so that you are not overwatering your lawn.

Got the job done , wish it had more ports but don’t really essential. The app format is a little sloppy but overall great product.

Works perfectly waters at appropriate time. You cannot change the time or turn on and off unless you are close but if you program times for watering in the app there are no issues
