Muffin's Halo has been a savior for my shitzu-chihuahua. His confidence shot up so quickly after putting the wings and halo on him. It has also been great for the rest of us in the house as he was constantly standing next to us and it was a constant worry that he'd get kicked or stepped on as we didn't always realize he was there. Now when we step or move he just moves with the halo. Now as the sight of my other shitzu-chihuahua is deteriorating, another Muffin's Halo is on it's way! I called Sylvie Bordeaux with questions about measuring and we realized that I was in need of a bigger halo, as shitzu's often do. Sylvie kindly offered to send me a knew halo at no additional cost. It's clear her mission is to help blind dogs!

My dog has had advanced cataracts for over a year and continues to bump into walls, doors, treadmills, etc. He is a stubborn dog so I wasn't sure if I wanted to invest $80 into something he might not wear. Initially when i put this on him he whined a bit - but within the first minute it prevented him from running into the door 3 times. In an hours time this device has prevented him from at least 30 collisions. I can finally relax when he is walking around and know that the bumps I hear are the halo and not his head. What a lifesaver!!

Took some getting used to how to position it so it rides above eye level and the dog doesn't step through it when sniffing the ground. Making it very snug seems to be the key. Once we learned, the dog learned quickly how to use it. It can knock over light weight food and water bowls, but a fixed bowl can remedy that. In any case, I wouldn't leave the dog unattended with it in place.

The Halo did not work well with my rat terrier. The Halo seems too heavy for the harness and tilts forward until it hits his snout or ears. We tried both sizes it came with. It just frustrates my dog more because then, when he bumps into something it pushes it further down and onto his nose. I've tried adjusting the harness further up on his neck to give the Halo more space, nope, halo still leaning on his nose. Harness fits fine. Not worth so much money this cost. Maybe only for dogs with short snouts.
