I purchased this at the recommendation of my chiropractor, as I have tight lower spine muscles that continue to pull my SI joint out of place. I will admit, that is worked wonderfully - at the start. The first setting was plenty, it loosened up the tense muscles within just a few minutes of use. I felt an immediate difference after using it and was able to keep my back from locking up on me: However, I only used this product maybe a dozen times over the course of a few months, and it completely stopped working. Tried multiple outlets, and it will not turn on. Very expensive and no customer support once purchased. Save your money and purchase a massager that has warranty.

Obviously this depends on which seller you choose but, knowing there are a lot of fakes out there, I inspected it carefully and it is no doubt the original, real one. It's powerful, and simple. If you want to put it on a "dimmer" (which you probably do since the built-in modes are basically off, max, and near max), or on an external power switch, it will work as expected. The newer version with the "wall wart" adapter and built-in speed control (the "plus" model) is not compatible with these kinds of external power control - once off, it will need to be turned on using the on-wand button and won't automatically resume if power is returned like this one does, and there is virtually zero ability to speed control it externally. Between the two (I have both), I find this one gets hotter at any speed. It might be a bit quieter, but neither is as bad in that regard as I initially anticipated. The one star off is for this issue, as without external cooling, it will become concerningly hot before too long, which is a nuisance to manage. On that topic, the manual recommends using it for no longer than 25 minutes continuously but it's safe to assume most people are going to ignore that. Provided you keep the temperature under control, you won't have any issues doing that with this one (ie it will run until you turn it off, but that said, I can't promise that it will or will not cause long term reliability problems). The "Plus" model on the other hand enforces this time limit to some degree by automatically switching off every 20m. Provided the temperature is not too high, you can just immediately turn it back on, but that might get annoying. The cable is directly attached to the unit and ends in a normal wall plug with no adapter brick or the like. I always assumed these must be so much more powerful than anything battery powered because of their access to wall power, but the truth is it draws only about 10 W, which could easily be provided by batteries. The main benefit here is just never needing to change them.

Our previous similar model lasted about 20 years. However, the new replacement was used about 6 times for less than 10 minutes each time and it stopped working properly. The last time it worked there was an unusual noise/buzz. The final time, the motor inside the handle ran but the head was not "connected" to the motor so the head did not vibrate at all. Obviously, this was either a dud or the new ones don't have anywhere near the quality of the old ones. We were very disappointed by the quality of this unit, to say the least.
