I just like the stuff
KENKO Matcha- premium Matcha IS DELICIOUS!!! I am no matcha expert, I just like the stuff. I have liked matcha for about 10 years and my personal opinion is: Good matcha is probably one of the best flavors ever. This is great matcha. When I opened it, the first thing I noticed was the smell; it smelled sweet! It was earthy, because it is ground up leaves after all, and there was no hint of seaweed, which you can get with lower grade matcha. The color matched the label. I have tried it hot, cold, with and without a splash of milk. The taste is what I consider what true matcha is supposed to taste like. it is sweet and smooth and makes ice water a bit more refreshing. I keep the matcha in the refrigerator or freezer, but it can be stored in a cupboard. I have used culinary grade matcha like green food coloring, it adds a depth of flavor and doesn't die your mouth colors as you eat the Christmas/St Patrick's Day frosted cupcakes. I use a long time favorite recipe and adding a spoonful has never thrown off the cooking chemistry. You can make muffins, cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc... or just sprinkle a little on top. The Matcha you get at most coffee shops is a Matcha Syrup, if you want that same flavor you will need to add lots of sugar to your drinks. WHY THE PRICE IS WAT IT IS: Regular tea preparation: Pick the leaves, dry the leaves, crunch the leaves, put them in a tea bag. Matcha Tea preparation: Pick the leaves, de-stem the leaves, de-vein the leaves, dry the leaves, powder the leaves. There is extra man power involved in removing the stems and veins, and it takes longer to turn the leaves into a powder. *UPDATE* 5 Days ago I received an e-mail, as I do with most products that I order on amazon, asking for a review. Attached was a PDF with information on what the product was, recipes, health benefits, how it's made etc... it was 8 pages long and I have printed it out for future use. All of the information could be found on the KENKO website (One of the reasons I purchased this tea was because they had an informative website) I encourage people to research what matcha is, before purchasing. People, please keep in mind that this product is powdered leaves, not dehydrated drink powder or flavored sugar powder. Real matcha does not disintegrate with water/milk like a chocolate milk mix, it floats in the liquid, if you let your cup sit for a long time it will settle on the bottom. the reason it is so healthy is because you are consuming the whole leaf and not just the water

I like it.
I don’t know a lot about matcha but I really like this. I got it because of the cat on the bag. It is very green and very good. I do 2 bamboo scoops in 3/4 cup hot water, mix it, and add 1/4 soy milk for a matcha late. Beats ⭐️bucks green sugar powder latte. This isn’t sweet but it doesn’t need sweetener. It is not bitter, I think. It might taste grassy but I can’t tell. Overall my little latte is good and I will probably order this again. It is expensive, like very, but it is good. The bag half fills an amber 12oz mason jar, maybe. There isn’t much here but I don't use much to make a latte either.

Oh soooo good
You really haven't tried matcha until you try this. I have a ton of other brands that I can't even drink anymore after this. I'll use the other's in the blender. Maybe there are other good brands too, but why waste more money, this is a good one. I didn't give 5 stars because it's very expensive.

Delicious
This is the very first matcha I started with about 7 years ago, I reordered it just to try to remember what it tastes like. This is a good starter matcha for anyone who has has interest in it and wants to start diving into the matcha world. It's very light body and sweet not better at all.

Pricey for what you get...
This matcha is amazing!! I purchased matcha from FavaTea before, it DOESN'T even compare to this matcha. This stuff is so much more vibrant and sweet than any store bought (Fava or Teavana) matcha I've ever had, at about the same price as what I would pay there for their stuff. If you are a matcha drinker who is looking for an easier way (and possibly cheaper way) to get quality matcha, I would recommend this product 100% without a doubt. I even tried to get my non-tea drinking friends to like this stuff (and they said it was really good too). UPDATE: After researching other kinds of matcha, this one is definitely not the best for what you get. I purchased a whole pound of matcha for the same price as this AND it tastes sweeter and smoother than this. I'm sad to say I will not be purchasing this again, as the other stuff is way better!

I am obsessed with this matcha!
Can one become addicted to matcha??? I love this stuff. It is excellent. Unfortunately, I ran out and bought some other brand at a local "healthfood" store. It was in a beautiful tin and was from a well-known company, so I paid $21 and was looking forward to trying it. I knew as soon as I opened it that I would be disappointed. Unlike the bright green gorgeousness of the Kenko matcha, this one was more khaki-colored and felt coarse in texture. I used 160° F water. It was bitter with negligible umami flavor. I'm no expert, but the difference was obvious. Now I'm making sure I have an automatic shipment of the Kenko matcha coming every month. If I run out, I would rather go without and wait for my shipment to come! I love this stuff!
