This compost spreader has been a great addition to my lawn care equipment. Assembly was straightforward, and it’s built much sturdier than I expected. It rolls smoothly across the lawn and spreads compost, screened topsoil, peat moss, and other materials evenly without creating large clumps. The adjustable handle is comfortable to use, and the large drum covers a good amount of ground before needing a refill, making bigger lawn projects much faster. Cleanup is simple, and the overall construction feels durable enough to last for years with normal use. If you regularly topdress, overseed, or improve your soil, this spreader is absolutely worth the investment. It saves a lot of time and gives much more consistent results than spreading material by hand. Highly recommended!

Awesome! I use this to spread topsoil and it does a fantastic job. Spreads evenly. I'm 72 and it's easy to fill and use.

This product has been a real lifesaver for me. It saves so much time and effort when working in the yard. I’ve used it to spread peat moss, dirt, sand, and compost, and each time the material went down evenly and smoothly. It really makes the job easier and more efficient. That said, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. There’s a small gap when spreading, and over time one of the gate hinges bent slightly, which makes removing and attaching it a little tricky. Still, the overall benefits far outweigh these minor issues. The time it saves and the even spread it delivers make it a tool I’d definitely recommend.

Just what I needed. So ok it did take a bit of time to line up holes on one side and a bolt was bent and had to use one of mine but it wasnt anything people cant figure out. The control handle needs to be extra tight to stop it from jumping around, and if you stop the fertilizer will pile up on slinger🙁. But I am using this on my small farm and I have a couple of 6 and 5 acre pastures that needed some love so this thing is a very economical option to purchasing a large trailer from the Co-op. I spread the 5 acre pasture first and it did not tip over and it survived the jolts and less than perfect surface so I love the thing right now, so if it will just last a few years it is a bargain.

Cannot give lower.complete JUNK. Fertilizer control is non adjustable and got my driveway great then crept shut over the lawn and now way to adjust. Would highly recommend for a neighbor you hate. 25 pounds of WASTED fertilizer and now my hassle to return this POS. HOPE YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS SELLING THIS CRAP.

If you care about your lawn you need to top dress it with a lawn topping soil a couple of times per year. The material should be evenly applied and one 2 cu ft bag will cover about 100 sf. This roller holds a 2 cu ft bag and will distribute the topping soil evenly and consistently over your lawn. Assembly is really easy with each part clearly numbered and foolproof instructions. The build quality is quite excellent with every piece fitting perfectly and no forcing holes to line up. It takes about 20 mins to assemble completely. Highly recommended to apply a top dressing to any lawn, your lawn will thank you for it. PS, you can also use this to cover newly seeded areas to ensure that the seeds are properly covered to germinate.

So far it's held up well. I used it in my front. And back yard. I used it to evenly spread soil and then after seed, my peat moss. I do not have a large yard. I've rented a peat moss spreader from HD. I got tired of rickety old cumbersome pieces of equipment. The last time I got one from HD the buckle would not stay closed and made for a very frustrating session. It didn't help that it's located in the center. It was abused rental equipment in need of replacement. 🙄 On THIS piece the buckles are on the side. This product is much smaller in size than the HD rental. Which has it's pros and cons. 1.) pro-very manageable and fits in all the corners of my small property. 2.) cons- it doesn't hold a lot so you do have to refill it more often. At the end of the day my lot is small and so it's not a big deal to refill more often. If I can get 4 uses out of, its paid for itself. I'm not about disposable products so I do purchase with intention. I hope it lasts. I also have to find place to store it. But for me it was worth the purchase and it was about $75 bucks. It's NOT meant for heavy duty use. The welds seem sturdy for my light use but if you're doing anything bigger than 1/4 acre it's probably not a good fit. If you have a larger property then you will benefit from a larger more commercial unit like what HD rents. But for the small yard people who don't want to waste space on large commercial equipment or having to rent something this is for you. If you still want to evenly spread some soil or peat moss this is a very nice bonus yard/garden gadget to have.

This great and does exactly what it is supposed to do - distributes the lawn soil evenly. The drawbacks I encountered are it was a little difficult putting it together (could use a more updated manual), having to put only two bags at a time which made it tiresome to continuously do so for a larger lawn. It did however, make a great job once you put it down and so evenly - which is what I wanted it for.

I cannot recommend this tool enough-absolutely worth the money and great at what it does. I use it all the time for spreading soil after overseeding. Its so great at keeping in the clumpy soil/sticks that will likely not break down quickly if left in the soil with the grass seed. Definitely worth keeping for the long term.

The spreader came in 6 days after my order was placed. The quality is quite good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tow-behind spreader for their lawns.
