Will create great espresso with a little bit of modding
I've been making my coffee at home for a couple of years using my Sage Duo Temp Pro and grinding my own beans. For this I have been using a bean grinder with a blade. Anyone that knows about good coffee will be cringing at this point. For the best extraction a burr grinder is a must to get a good fine grind. Since this machine is fairly new the reviews are varied but based on the fairly low price I purchased one. The Melitta Calibra, according to the blurb should produce a fine grind for use in my Sage (there's even images of a portafilter on the machine!). On the finest grind setting using a standard portafilter basket the grind is way too coarse and the extraction time way too short. Using the pressurised filter (also known as a double wall filter) the extraction was acceptable and tasted fairly good. If you want a finer grind, as I did, then the burrs of the grinder need to be closer together. At this point I decided to open the machine and have a look inside to see if it was possible to adjust (I'd like to point out that as soon as you open your machine you will void the warranty and I accept no liability for damage to the machine or yourself). If you want a finer grind then follow these simple steps; 1. Ensure the grind setting ring is positioned at one end of the scale and make a note, this will make it much easier to re-assemble the machine. 2. Remove the hopper from the top of the machine. 3. Inside you should see four small caps covering the screws, prise out the caps and remove the four screws. 4. Lift up the grind setting ring and move it out of the way. 5. Remove the two screws from the end stop ring (the semi-circular black ring, see picture), cut the cable tie and remove the end stop ring from the machine. 6. Refit the grind setting ring ensuring it can rotate without the microswitch wire tangling and also ensure the markings re-align. If for some reason the markers do not line up you should ensure the grind setting ring is screwed down then rotate to its coarsest setting. Now remove the screws, lift it up and then reposition it correctly. Once it has be reset properly you will know where the original settings were and that your finer grinds will be beyond the original marker. There are approximately 12-13 more grind settings beyond the original. It is also worth noting that for my machine there is no interference between the burrs on the absolute finest setting. I don't know if this is the case on all machines and is probably why the end stop ring is fitted in the first place. Before filling the machine with beans it is worth testing the machine to ensure it works. You will see in my attached images a sample of the finest original grind and the newest setting of my machine. On the new finest setting it is enough to choke my machine so this should be far finer than anyone could ever need for their espresso.

Great Budget Burr Grinder — Fresh Coffee Every Morning!
I’ve been using this grinder daily for about a month now and wanted to share my real experience to help others decide if it’s worth it. 👉 What I like most ☕ Fresh coffee flavour: Grinding your own beans makes a huge difference vs pre-ground — the aroma and taste are much better, especially for filter coffee and moka pot brews. ⚙️ Lots of grind options: The 17 grind settings let you go from fairly fine to quite coarse, so you can tailor it for filter, French press or drip styles. The selector dial is easy to use. 📏 Easy cup quantity control: You can set it for anywhere from about 2 up to 14 cups of coffee — super handy if you’re making multiple servings in one go. Costco 🛠️ Simple to clean: The removable burr/disc and containers make clean-up much easier than many older blade grinders I’ve tried. 🎨 Looks good on the counter: The black and red design actually adds a bit of character to my kitchen without looking cheap. 👉 What to keep in mind 🔄 Not the most consistent grind for espresso: If you’re trying to dial in super-fine espresso extractions, this won’t match higher-end conical burr grinders — very fine settings can be a bit uneven. Still great for filter and French press. 🌀 Static can stick grounds: A little static makes tiny bits cling to the container — a quick tap or a better brush helps. Many users suggest upgrading the brush beyond the tiny tool provided. 🧹 Regular cleaning helps: To keep the grind quality consistent, I wipe it down after a few uses — the removable parts make that easy. ✅ Bottom line: For the price, this is an excellent entry-level burr grinder that produces a noticeably fresher cup of coffee than pre-ground beans or cheap blade grinders. It’s versatile and easy to use, especially for filter coffee, French press, and drip brewing — a solid choice if you want quality without spending hundreds. ☕💯

Top quality little coffee grinder
Great little coffee grinder, very sturdy and solid does everything it should. Good range of grinding levels and good selection of coffee quantities. This grinder is top quality and was recommended by a friend and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

The scale is at the BOTTOM
This is a great, high-quality grinder for the price. There's no point listing all the features, as you can see them above. I've been using a cheaper automatic grinder and what primarily drew me to this was the built-in scales. Being able to avoid getting out scales *and* grind directly into a cafetière sounded great. However, things don't work as I'd expected. I wrongly assumed that as I put beans into the top area, I'd see how much I'd put in there. This would be great, as I previously would weigh the beans, grind them and then transfer the ground coffee into my cafetière. Unfortunately for my assumptions, the Calibra weighs *after* grinding, not before. This is unfortunate, as I'm not the only one who uses a grinder. I didn't want to have to dump beans into the grinder and then remove the beans that haven't been ground. Other than needing to put more into the storage area and remove the excess afterwards - I share the grinder and different people use different beans - the problem for me is that it's necessary to get this machine to weigh the cafetière so I can grind directly into it and avoid transferring the grounds afterwards. This probably sounds like a lot of complaining, but my assumptions were the problem here. Everything else about this machine is great; it's well made, very high quality indeed and has a great deal of grinding options. It's a huge improvement over my previous grinder and I am happy with it. I just wish the scale was able to weigh the beans prior to grinding them. I primarily wrote this review to point out the obvious; that the built-in scales are at the bottom, not the top. I imagine doing it the other way around isn't possible from an engineering perspective, or would be pretty problematic. After all, you'd be putting a scale right under/above the burr.

Super Grinder ☕️
Lucky enough to get my hands on this superb grinder during the Black Friday sale, but even at it's full price it is worth the money! It looks great on the kitchen worktop, cleans relatively easily, seems to grind relatively accurately, and the scales also seem to be accurate. I've only had the grinder for less than a week, so yet to explore the variety of options the grinder offers. The only negatives I have found so far... • The bean hopper has a locking in section that is a little fiddly to lock in. • The grinds come through with a bit of static and get stuck to the sides of the plastic catching container. • When the ground coffee container is removed from the grinder, little bits of the grind continue to fall out of the machine. Despite these things, I would still recommend this grinder highly for home use ☕️

Fine, not great
I've had this grinder for about 9 months now, it was my first electric grinder moving on from a hand grinder I used for years. Pros: - It's quick - It achieves a reliable grind fineness Cons: - The scales are super inconsistent - sometimes 18g will overfill the portafilter basket, other times it won't quite reach the top - hard to get a consistent dose - The grind size does not relate to the pictures: when I tried a cafetierre grind it was too coarse to use and needed re-grinding - rely on experience instead - The gaps between grind sizes are too big, often when dialling in it goes from too coarse to too fine or vice versa - The finest setting is sometimes not fine enough, especially if you're making espresso. You can mod it to go finer but this voids your warranty I don't know if you can get better for the money, but these are the issues I've faced with the grinder. Still useable, but not the best

Mycket bra kaffekvarn

Fiyat/performans urunu

Great job, however has a design flaw.
The end product in terms of coffee grinds is really good. However the issue with this grinder is the constant expulsion of fine grounds coming out of the container during its operation. So that definitely drops a star for us which is a shame for such a good product.
