Great filtering item for filtering RUG before using for Dual Fuel Stoves and Lanterns!
After using this Mr. Funnel Filtering Funnel for the past couple of months, Iโm quite pleased with the performance of this Mr. Funnel Filtering Funnel and decided to write an honest review of this item. My primary purpose, for purchasing this item, was to filter โRegular Unleaded Gasolineโ, (RUG), purchased from my local truck stop. I use RUG, purchased by the gallon, for running my Coleman Dual Fuel stoves and lanterns and also for filtering Kerosene purchased at the pump for Kerosene Lanterns for recreation and emergency use. After reading reports of Coleman Dual Fuel stoves and lanterns, being problematic, if the fuel used is not white gas. White Gas, which is free of water and contaminants, is very expensive and I decided that I needed something to clean up RUG to used in these Dual Fuel items. I use these items for recreation with the local Boy Scout troop so using white gas is cost prohibitive. Since Iโm using RUG as the primary fuel source, this funnel has helped remove water, and other debris, from service station RUG. Although service stations use filters at the pump, itโs amazing how much this Filtering Funnel captures when pouring RUG from the gas can through the funnel and into a clear glass bottle before filling up the stoves and lanterns. The water and contaminants are easily removed from the funnel by placing the funnel upside down into a pail for later proper environmental disposal. I have found that Service Station Kerosene, although dyed red in my location, still contains some water and contaminants, that can be easily removed before using in Coleman Kerosene Lanterns. Due to its design and application, I still use the Coleman Filtering Funnel for adding fuel to the lanterns and stoves. I only fill these dual fuel and kerosene items after FIRST filtering fuels through the Mr. Funnel Filtering Funnel. My Thanks to Amazon for the quality Mr. Funnel Filtering Funnel purchased on Amazon with Prime shipping. The funnel arrived quickly and was well packaged with excellent delivery communication. I highly recommend the use of the Mr. Funnel Filtering Funnel for people that want to ensure that the fuel being used in Camping Stoves and Lanterns, for recreation and emergency use, is free of water and contaminants to reduce maintenance expenses on these items.

JUST AS DESCRIBED EVEN BETTER THAN DESCRIBED
Definitely a product that should be in every home that uses gasoline. It filters out 100% of all water and debris. i would buy it again. but there is no problem as it is as it was stated. I would buy it again. Cleans the water and debris from the gas that is available in this area. This product is almost beyond belief. No longer do I have any pings in my spark plugs nor Sputtering when I accelerate as my car is a turbo charged VW Beetle and my mileage has increased by 5 to 7 miles per gallon and the engine runs smooth and there is never any hesitation from the pedal on the gas til the care responds immediately. This product should come standard with every new car and every high performance garden tractor or lawn mower. I would buy it again and again but there is no maintenance and requirements to keep it working with no problems. I would suggest that if you have $20.00 spend it here and buy one of these filters as you will save that much in performance and gas mileage increase during the first couple of months. It gives me peace of mind knowing that what I put in my car is truly 99.9% gasoline and not water or debris that hampers the performance of the automobile. At 94000 miles I look now for another 100000 miles. It lives up to all its claims and then some. Great product and great deal. Thomas W. Arnn 573-890-0708 Tommy Arnn 573-890-0708

Good for filtering, not so much for filling....
This funnel works great for removing water and other junk from fuel -- but it lacks a venting function, such that the fuel fills up the funnel cup and fails to drain into the receptacle until you lift the funnel and allow air to escape the receptacle. And the tapered tail of the funnel is pretty large for the size of the funnel -- smaller would be better for this size funnel, I think. (Note: I have other funnels that have a small groove or lengthwise protrusion that runs the length of the funnel tail to prevent air lock; this one worked great after I placed a small piece of wire into the fuel tank opening to provide this function.)

Works awesome. Why did i wait so long?
I have had this in my wish list for a while but just couldn't figure on the expense until I recently had a reason to need it. So here's what happened. I had recently filled up my boats primary fuel tank with about 12 gal of fuel. I left the boat hitched up and over 2 weeks of thunderstorms I realized I had left the gas cap loose. Sure enough when I tried to run it it just kept kicking out due to water in the gas. I had all this gas that was contaminated. So I decided to buy this. I tested it in my sink and sure enough no water flowed though. I figured I would get smart and tried rubbing alcohol and that did not go through either. HMMM. So I went ahead and pumped out all 12 gallons of fuel from my boat gas tank. I ran it trough the funnel into a couple of 6 gallon containers. I was shocked at how much water it collected. After pumping all that fuel I had at least a 1/2 cup of water in it. Now for the real test. I put all 12 gallons of fuel in my car. I was a little worried it might run rough. Nope. In fact I think it ran better than pump gas! THIS LITTLE GUY WORKS!!!!! So the moral to the story is I paid $16 for this guy but i successfully reclaimed $25 worth of fuel that otherwise would have been used only for bonfires, etc. Now every time I fill up my atv or lawn mower from a fuel container I will use this. It is a little small so pour slowly but they do make larger ones for bigger jobs.

How does it do that????
I purchased the smallest funnel, the F1. It's listed as 3.5" wide and 6" tall with a gpm flow capacity of 2.7 gallons. The very first thing I did upon receiving it was to dump some water in the funnel, hold it up, and wait. Nothing passed, not even one drop! I dumped that out and blew on it backwards and it flowed air like an open funnel. Satisfied that it indeed was going to do something magic, I poured the first can of tainted gas through it and it worked magnificent! I then went around the property to gather up several other canisters I had dedicated to tainted or dirty gas as well, processing each one into usable gas again. Before owning this funnel I would have taken all the cans to my local hazmat collection site whereas now I waste absolutely no fuel! I am totally delighted and now keep this funnel in a special, secret place where it cannot be snitched or develop legs! I love this funnel so much I do not want to lose or misplace it! (Things have a way of walking off or developing legs on my small farm) The flow rate of 2.7 gallons is enough to do anything I want and now I use it every time I put gas in a vehicle on the farm! I know that if gas sits in any tank around here for long, condensation develops in the tank and over winter especially, I can filter out as much as a half cup of water from even the small 1.5gal tank on my rider mower! No more fussing to get motors started, no more faltering, intermittent running engines that lose power when you are way down in the back field and die on you at the worst time! Get this funnel and you to will get just as excited!

Amazing funnel
I have had a 30 year long, ongoing battle with fuel problems in the seven gasoline powered machines that I own (Power auger, snow blower, irrigation pump, wood splitter, et al). For years I have had to "fix" all these machines and devise clever ways the make them start and then keep running. On the advice of a friend, a "wizard" I bought one of these funnels. He argued that ALL my machine problems were fuel problems. After starting with fresh gasoline, I now run it through the funnel. My machine problems have vanished. All engines now start easily and run smoothly. I no longer store fuel longer that two months and I always filter both newly purchased and saved gasoline before using. I even drain tanks and then refill them through the funnel before using any such machine. One day, I decided to test the funnel in real time. That is, I filled it with water and watched to see if any moisture flowed through. Much to my amazement the funnel's discharge tube remained completely dry. NO WATER, NOT ONE DROP, CAME THROUGH! Life is good again!

Great product with two issues
I bought this funnel for my lawn mower that doesn't have a fuel filter on it. It's doesn't hold a lot of fuel so I didn't need the larger one. This is a good concept to filter the fuel before you put it in your machine and trap any water that is in the fuel. However, I have found two issues with it. One is that when you put it in the fuel fill hole You can't see how much fuel is in the tank when you filling it because it covers the entire fuel fill hole. So when you are trying to fill the gas tank on a small mower, you can very quickly overfill it and spill gas everywhere. The other issue is that because the screen is raised a little in the funnel it leaves fuel in the funnel when your done. I think they did this to capture any water that may be in the fuel. The problem is it captures fuel everytime you use it. so then you have to either throw that little bit of gas out or pull the funnel out of the gas tank and turn the funnel over to pour that gas into the tank which defeats the purpose of the funnel. I think they need to redesign this funnel so you can see how much gas is in the tank when your filling it and do away with trying to trap any water that maybe in the fuel. I like the idea of this funnel, just not it's design. The fact of the matter is If you buy your gas a a reputable gas station it shouldn't have any dirt in it. The fuel goes through two or three fuel filters before it comes out of the hose.

Seems to work
Seemed to work. Gas has a smaller molecule and water bigger.
