Hands down this is the best router I've ever owned/used. Setup is incredibly simple, using any device you have. WiFi connections are strong and fast. Coverage is amazing, no drop zones throughout my 3 level 1500 sqf. house and outside patio, it doesn't cover my whole property but does provide more outdoor coverage than I've had from any other router I've had in the past. There are dozens of other networks around me, this router deals well with frequency overcrowding, automatically scanning the environment and adjusting itself once a week. I've only had to manually reset this router 4 times since June, 3 of those times in one day because of ISP issues. It works with Alexa I know that for sure and I think it works with whatever Google is calling their assistant now. (Some may notice the ASUS router in the pic. I turned the WiFi off and use it for my wired devices in my entertainment unit.)

Easy setup as extender with Xfinity router, and delivers strong signal!
It was very easy to set this up as a mesh extender used with the Xfinity router. Does just what is expected: makes a fast connection with the router and then provides strong, fast signal to the extended area. Uses the same SSID and password as the router (picked it up automatically from the router). Once started it automatically started picking up connections to devices on our network and improving their connection. That includes our main TV (Samsung) and a couple of the Xfinity boxes in our house. All of those are visibly faster! Like, a lot faster! Loading up an app on the TV (e.g. Netflix or Prime or Max) goes so much faster it is astonishing. Well worth this price.

Not too shabby router
PROs: Quality 12v 2a power supply. FAST service router. Configurable WAN GW throughput (goes up to 1GB). 2.4ghz & 5Ghz bandwidth. Easy setup IF, you are a techie person (3.5 mins). Configurable SSIDs for each bandwidth (5g or 2.4g). CONs: Tricky to get the feel of the configs initially. 5GHz bandwidth is tricky to setup for Samsung phones. You must use the higher channels or those phones wont see the 5ghz SSID (trial and error). Use 157 and over channels for 5ghz. If you set it to use auto mode, it will default to the lower channels and will NOT broadcast the SSID. Wifi range is about 3000ft, IF there are no obstructions !!! Configuration settings are limited. The time to boot and time it takes the save the configs are extremely long (like over 150 seconds). Unable to limit the Wifi mode to the latest (AX/AC/N). It s either ALL or in the middle or individual which makes no sense. Verdict: If you are on a budget and have patience, this a good buy. Its obviously NOT the greatest and that is really because of the available config settings and not the physical device !! IF D-LINK makes these changes via firmware update then you will really come to love this router.

Elegant, blazingly fast and easy to setup.
Aesthetically pleasing, nice without sticky antenae to draw attention to technology. 10 minute setup, and very fast in operation. Strong signal strength throughout a multi level well spaced home. If you want distinct 2.4G vs 5G SSIDs to differentiate for different clients in your home network, then disable "Smart Connect". Also, if you are not planning to build a mesh network, i.e. this is the only router in your home, then disable "Wi-Fi Mesh". The built in mesh makes adding a second router very simple. Super easy to setup via the app, or the Web Interface. The only downside is that it takes 160 seconds to save certain changes that require a restart of the router.
